davylloyd
A brief hello to one and all, I've been watching from the wings, reading and learning, and it's now time to say hello. I'm in my fifties, and still have every watch I've ever owned (since the age of 12), but I've only been into reps for the last 4 or 5 years, and since I've not long discovered this forum, as you can imagine, I've been burned once or twice. My collection now tops 100, 17 of which are reps. This sounds grander than it is because most of the reps are cheapies, and the gens are only old Ingersolls, some Russian oddities like Raketa and Poljot and Vostok, and then more recently quite a few Rotary, Accurist, Seiko, Citizen, and Pulsar chronos. The normal route, I guess. Ironically, the most money I've spent on a rep so far is one that looks like it's been seized in the current UK customs crackdown. So, in short, a noob here, but I do share your collective madness!

Lobster
A true watch collector , Welcome to the madness. A fellow Londoner here. The rep game is all about patience and most probably customs won't seize your watch. What watch did you order btw?
davylloyd
@sgtguk, thanks for the welcome and the kind thought. @Lobster, hi fellow Londoner. Yes, patience I've had to learn over the years. The watch is a Breitling Avenger, if it gets here!

Watchmeister
Davy- Welcome to the over 50 club. A number of us have shared your passion for watches over the decades. My first watch was a Roy Rogers watch at age 6. I have never looked back other than what in retrospective was the dark ages also known as the Quartz ages. chiefwiggum
Hi Davy - Suppose I'm a mockney now, moved out of London to the 'burbs. Thought that would mean more disposable income at the end of the month, but no, the girlfriend seems to find ways of spending it for me lol.
