lionsandtigers
Despite having built many frankens in the past, the length to cut a stem for the crown alludes me. I have an mbw 5513 case, eta movement and a gen crown/tube. Any info would be helpful. Thanks
freddy333
I am not aware of any guide to stem length for either gens or frankens. New stems must generally be cut to fit your specific crown/tube, case & movement.
kbh
It's called "cut and test, cut and test, cut and test".
sneed12
Long enough that it unscrews properly, short enough that it will screw down properly without stopping the movement.
mymanmatt
A good place to start is to install the new stem in the movement in the case. Then pull the stem all the way out and cut it at the case tube. Good starting place and then like KBH said, cut and ck, caution only cut 1 or 2 threads from that point. 1 thread to short causes it not work properly.
