Category 5 Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Been absent a while since I have been tending to the big move, but got an e-mail from ashford.com today that all their merchandise is 20% off, automatically when added to cart. They're one of the cheapest place in the US to get a Gen as it is, so it's hard to ignore. Their stock took a dive to below 20cents in the last couple of months, so I imagine it is either a clearance effort, or a last ditch effort to liquidate before their assests become confiscated (been in companies where this happened before). I think the black bezel Omega PO came to like $1700 or something....and they're watches are all new and same as anywhere else. I got my PO and Aquaracer from them and love both. So if you're looking for a Gen, check there first. They just might have your deal. They have a Chpoard Mille Miglia that comes out to less than $2000. Too bad I don't have the dough because I have been eyeing that watch for a long time!
r11co Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 On the other hand you could send them some money, receive nothing and then find out in 1 month's time they've gone into administration.....
leitztozeiss Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Or, pay for a watch by credit card, then cancel the charges if they go into administration and don't send the watch.
jonas Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 On the other hand you could send them some money, receive nothing and then find out in 1 month's time they've gone into administration..... In that case, maybe this could be an option then?

Too bad I don't have the dough because I have been eyeing that watch for a long time! You got me all excited...went to buy that Chopard for less than 2 grand and it appeared at slightly over three in my cart w/ shipping, a little more expensive than atlantictime.com and jomashop.com. Maybe the promotion is over?
turkey Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Not working for me as well. Hopefully its just in my case. There will be a lot of happy people if its working.
Category 5 Posted November 15, 2006 Author Report Posted November 15, 2006 Still working for me. Just add the watch to your cart and bam, 20% marked off. ...no more Chopards though. A PO for 1695...Seamaster for well under a grand still there and both great deals.

Category 5 Posted November 15, 2006 Author Report Posted November 15, 2006 http://www.ashford.com/ Do you guys not even see the banner on the front page about 20% off sitewide? ...or is it just the cart that doesn't work. I tried it on my PC and my wife's laptop and it works on both. Strange.
x86uops Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 Not working for me as well. Maybe the promo just ended?
tallguy83 Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 Slim pickings on there. For Omegas I see a quartz SMP and a 45mm PO. No more Tags...they must be going out of business.
Chronus Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 Doesn't look like a wide range left...
puttputt Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 Blue Omega Seamaster $1119 when I added it to the shopping basket. Don't know if that's a good enough deal to pull the trigger.
Category 5 Posted November 16, 2006 Author Report Posted November 16, 2006 Blue Omega Seamaster $1119 when I added it to the shopping basket. Don't know if that's a good enough deal to pull the trigger. Shows up as 895.20 when i add it to the shopping bag. Wow...there's nothing left now.
puttputt Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 Well Category 5, they obviously like you better than they do me!!!
archibald Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 This thread spurred me to do a pretty extensive search--it seems that Atlantictime.com has the best average prices on the watches I like. Anyone bought anything from them? Buying preowned from a respected seller on Timezone is still the best way to pick up gens, IMO.
Chronus Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 (edited) I finally got it to work... I bought an AP Royal Oak Offshore Chrono, a R*l*x Seadweller, a Cartier two tone Santos, a Franck Muller solid gold Casablanca and a two tone Omega SMP Chrono. Just kidding! ubiquitous Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 No worries, you guys... If Ashford sells out and goes belly up (and you're looking for something to spend the cash that's burning a hole in your pocket), you can always buy a V72 frankenstein 6263 on the bay for $12k!
