I have a question. this insert is from a gen '65 Tudor Sub. is this insert also gen? and if "yes" or "no" - why?

Dunno how you break an insert like this. Check the bezel on the watch too i guess

tudor and rolex had the same inserts, should be no difference.

the bezel is fine, I think something sharp pressed into the insert.

Cannot be 100% certain, especially without good, clear macros of the surface texture (very difficult to replicate the natural patina of 40 years of age/use), but it looks good.

That said, consider its condition, I think I would opt for a PMWF or, if you can afford a couple hundred $, another gen in better condition.

Looks to me like all you can salvage is the pearl. But it looks legit to me.
