ww12345
I have a 5513 Sub that, for some reason, stops and starts rather erratically. I know this question probably would have been better in a different section, but I figured I'd ask it here because this seems to be the section with the most "franken" builders. This 5513 seems to be fully wound, and will run for like 5 seconds and then stop. Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong with it, or who could fix it for me? Thanks in advance! imajedi
I have the same problem on a Breitling so. Mine will run for 20 or 30 minutes at a time and then stop. If I jolt it fairly hard it starts again
HartDoc
it could be 1) movement is dirty 2) movement needs oil in either case the movement may only needs servicing.

panerai153
If your movement is indeed a 2846, i can just about guarantee it's D&D (Dry and dirty) These are old movements, haven't been made in over 20 years, so even if yours happened to be a New old stock, ( old but never used),it's still going to be dry. all of the oil has lost it's properties, and is probably more like hard grease. Get it serviced and you should be in good shape for a few more years.
