jamesfl Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 (edited) Might want to do use the search feature on the various forums. The 3714 has know issues with the movement and has been discussed in lenght many many times. Edited October 27, 2012 by jamesfl
hooky Posted October 28, 2012 Report Posted October 28, 2012 Hi, the A7750 with seconds @ 6 movements have known reliability issues. Normally with these movements the seconds is at 9. But now they made a train of extra gears to put the seconds at 6. This will create lots of drag on the movement and also create more dirt, because some gears are turning not on jewels, but on metal. So it results in low power reserve and grinding movements, which won't run. To real solution for this. Most of these movements will have a problem within 1 year.
ActionZzZ Posted October 29, 2012 Author Report Posted October 29, 2012 Thanks for answers, I'm a newbie. I'll ask another question... what you describe is true for any watch on based A7750? not only IWC? If yes, what replica buy, that would not have a problem with movement?
jamesfl Posted October 29, 2012 Report Posted October 29, 2012 I'll ask another question... what you describe is true for any watch on based A7750? not only IWC? No, the issue described is specific to the IWC 3714. See hooky's post above.
Lakeview10 Posted October 29, 2012 Report Posted October 29, 2012 I'm glad I found this post as was going to place an order only yesterday for a IWC 3714. I've been looking for a reliable IWC rep for a while now. Anyone got any ideas to go for??
ActionZzZ Posted October 29, 2012 Author Report Posted October 29, 2012 I'm really like Portuguese 3714 (white \ blue) and such disappointment (((((

If yes, what replica buy, that would not have a problem with movement? It's problematic for the A7750 where the seconds runs at the 6. This includes the IWC 3714 and Rolex Daytona, I believe. It's some sort of Rolex but I'm not sure the model
ActionZzZ Posted October 29, 2012 Author Report Posted October 29, 2012 *cough* get the quartz version *cough* lol they exist with quartz? )
Guest Posted October 29, 2012 Report Posted October 29, 2012 They do. There's a thread that discusses this not even a month ago. The dial appearance is a little different
jamesfl Posted October 29, 2012 Report Posted October 29, 2012 Here are the link to the recent thread diaby2afc is referring:
ActionZzZ Posted October 30, 2012 Author Report Posted October 30, 2012 Here are the link to the recent thread diaby2afc is referring: http://www.rwg.cc/to...uartz-movement/ I do not want a quartz, significant difference ( Movement a7750 break any way or at specific conditions?
rickdangerous Posted October 30, 2012 Report Posted October 30, 2012 Movement a7750 break any way or at specific conditions? Hooky answered your question already, go back and read #3. a7750 secs@6 are ALL prone to failure.
ActionZzZ Posted October 30, 2012 Author Report Posted October 30, 2012 Hooky answered your question already, go back and read #3. a7750 secs@6 are ALL prone to failure. Sorry. I'm stupid noob with bad English )
rickdangerous Posted October 30, 2012 Report Posted October 30, 2012 lol I wouldn't go that far! You're just learning your way around the rep world. Golden rule: read a LOT before purchasing.
markiemark Posted October 30, 2012 Report Posted October 30, 2012 Put down some more money and go franken lol I wouldn't go that far! You're just learning your way around the rep world. Golden rule: read a LOT before purchasing. And read a LOT before posting.
sneed12 Posted October 30, 2012 Report Posted October 30, 2012 Most of these movements will have a problem within 1 year. [censored]. Yes, some have problems. Not "most."
sneed12 Posted October 30, 2012 Report Posted October 30, 2012 a7750 secs@6 are ALL prone to failure. I've owned about a dozen without a problem. If you buy a $200 rep, and it dies in 2 years... just buy another one. Sell the dead one for parts.
rickdangerous Posted October 30, 2012 Report Posted October 30, 2012 Please don't confuse the newbie. It's a fact that ALL secs@6 7750's have early/high failure rates. There's just no way around it unless you service them once a year (unrealistic). Secs@6 7750 is a hack, not a clean movement.
hooky Posted October 31, 2012 Report Posted October 31, 2012 Same goes for the seconds @ 12 modified ones, like the AP models. Also have more chance to have problems. But with those a service overhaul will help. With the seconds @ 6 models a service overhaul won't help.
folex Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 I'm really like Portuguese 3714 (white \ blue) and such disappointment ((((( More like get the gen

Guest Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 I have a 3714 and it's been over a year and I have not had any issues, then again I NEVER run the chronos so to each is own. Has it been running nearly the whole year? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
