hookoo
Just saw the new bond movie. The movie definitely focused on the Omega watches. Would love to see this watch with the rubber strap. But, I will do without the 007 on the end of the second hand. Great movie BTW. Very surprised by Daniel Craig. He looks more athletic then the others, so he is more believable in some of those action scenes.

And i can't see brosnan jumping around and kicking people in the face like craig either. I definitely had doubts, but they're gone now - love the movie! Now i want an OHMEEEEGAH! docblackrock
Trust me, I've spent last 3 months pestering several dealers about the 22mm rubber strap to no avail. One even confirmed that the makers of the 20mm SM rep strap refused as they didn't think there'd be enough of a ROI on this one! WTF? Maybe now the film is out, and the 22mm PO is in wider circulation, they'll reconsider? BTW, if you want to stump up for the gen, my AD quoted me 160GBP with buckle, and an eye-watering 360GBP with deployant (that's 300USD and 700USD respectively). The AD manager smiled apologetically as if to say 'yes, Omega are taking the [censored] somewhat'. I asked 'do I get a free watch with that?' cornerstone
For that matter, is there actually a 20mm rep rubber strap that fits the current 42.5mm PO's? The ones that are out there only fit the 3rd generation, is that right? (I think only Trusty carries a 42.5 with a rubber strap, it looks like an older model)

The case has had to be modified and lugholes redrilled in a different position to allow the rep rubber strap to fit as it was originally designed for the SMP, not the PO. Trusty supplies cases with two sets of lugholes and a positioning hole in the case to accomodate the strap locator. Not having these means you end up with a huge gap between strap end and case. The genuine 20mm PO strap fits the 42.5mm rep perfectly....

mezzanine
No kidding. I've also gone to an AD and priced out the gen strap. Yeah. Not cool.
chad
So the gen 22mm strap does not fit the newest 6th from joshua? No kidding. I've also gone to an AD and priced out the gen strap. Yeah. Not cool.
chad
http://www.ofrei.com/page750.html so the gen comes in 20mm and 21mm?? so there is no 22mm? are the lugs on gen are 21mm? and not really 22mm?
r11co
They are Seamaster Pro straps for the mid and full sized SMP case, not Planet Ocean straps. You can differentiate the genuine PO strap by the slightly different buckle (it has a round tongue rather than a 10mm flat one).
chad
hmm....I heard board members buying these for the po? rsv123
hmm....I heard board members buying these for the po? I have the 20mm SMP strap on my 42.5 PO and it fits, just not perfectly. Need that 22mm strap for the 45mm rep... the dealers are missing a trick!
docblackrock
Well since I was talking to Angus anyway, asked him to check his sources and see what can be done Christ if he can pull off the 187 dive strap/buckle, this is a piece of [censored] in comparison... smart
Did you notice Bond starts out wearing a Planet Ocean with a black strap and then somehow changes to a Seamaster with a steel bracelet. Then, as he dives underwater to save the girl, he has NO watch! Shoddy continuity. Must have been a rep Seamaster!
rek001
I believe Craig wore a 42.5 mm PO in the movie, not 45.
