chris5264 Posted March 1, 2013 Report Posted March 1, 2013 as far as I know I'm staying in a pretty central area...times square...Its for work,,,so I should and PLENTY of time for other things. I know nothing about this city so...open to any watch related suggestions..tight budget so...will have to keep it pretty cheap unless there is a must do sort of thing...
SSTEEL Posted March 1, 2013 Report Posted March 1, 2013 I went to NY with work, sadly only there for 48 hours, so didn't get any time to see anything
onzenuub Posted March 1, 2013 Report Posted March 1, 2013 Not watch related, but a visit to Stone Steet and the Pier 17 area is nice. http://www.google.nl/imgres?imgurl=http://morethanshipping.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/ny_stone_street_historic_downtown_21_693.jpg&imgrefurl=http://morethanshipping.com/6-hidden-gems-in-new-york/&h=360&w=480&sz=228&tbnid=_smje9DgiOwEvM:&tbnh=92&tbnw=122&zoom=1&usg=__TieXgU0K_58e-lS5I2Bu0lqc6a4=&docid=WElogvgvrM9lKM&sa=X&ei=qJkwUbXvN4i20QXU9YG4DA&ved=0CD8Q9QEwAg&dur=3412 http://www.southstreetseaport.com/
billyfras Posted March 1, 2013 Report Posted March 1, 2013 I took a vacation to NY a couple years ago. I love that place. I walked along canal street but never spent enough time there to get into reps.
Martyd3 Posted March 1, 2013 Report Posted March 1, 2013 Just walk down 5th Avenue towards Central Park. You will find all of the watch shops (except for the Panerai boutique), which is on 545 Madison Ave.
lionsandtigers Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 Talk a walk on 47th between 5th and 6th ave if you want to see a shitload of watches.
amanamongmen Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 I love NYC. one thing you can do is buy an all day bus pass. people are selling them. you can go to all the different areas of NYC and get off and back on at your leisure. Its pretty nice. I forget how much they were. but its something nice and an easy way to travel around the city.
bumroxas Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 http://www.newyorkcitywalk.com/ I'm planning this with my wife. Not all routes of course.
SCM Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 I find myself there for work once a month or so as well. On foot you can see Times Square, Empire State Building (go to observation deck), Rockefeller plaza (Xmas tree/skating rink in winter) and a few other local attractions. If you are a big photo guy..head to B and H just for the fun of it.
chris5264 Posted March 2, 2013 Author Report Posted March 2, 2013 Cool..thanks guys..all I can say is this place is amazing..yes..time sq at night is a trip like no other..
Noel Fleischer Posted March 3, 2013 Report Posted March 3, 2013 Check out Tourneau Time Machine on Madison and 57th Street, one of the biggest ADs around. It's fun to look in ChinaTown for reps but remember- most are crappy. Good luck.
jd01449 Posted March 3, 2013 Report Posted March 3, 2013 I work in the most torturous area for us watch lovers 56th and park. Starting at 57th and park you can visit AP, walk up a block to breitling, a cross the street and around the block and hit up tornau and then another block to panerai, Rolex. Go to 5th avenue an visit breguet, omega another Rolex, then Cartier. I may have missed a few. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
wild05kid05 Posted March 3, 2013 Report Posted March 3, 2013 Timesquare aint a pretty spot.. I live by 8th and 46th and it's still hectic. You should check out Wempe and Tourneau. All are in walking distance. If it's sunny (which not, it's snowing right now ...), go check out the Highline Park.
