Seems a bit weird to me too considering how many people have asked about both the Blue and Black on this thread  ;) perhaps like you say this is the first of a new batch with more to come  ;)

What is it with the datewheel, I don't get it, you are the second one to comment on that.

I get it if it is misaligned, but even my gens have that problem. Don't see a problem here, maybe a little to the left.

Another thing I noticed is that there is no space between lugs and end links, which is nice.

From pics dw doesn't look as bold as gen, but maybe I am wrong

Yeah, seems odd to release the white first when I am sure the most popular color on most watches has to be black and blue.  Looking forward to the blue dial myself!

Was talking to Josh/Andrew and asking about the other colours from BP, as usual a very open ended, beautifully ambiguous answer along the lines of 'yes other colours are being made, and will be coming out slowly'.

So I guess that nails it down for us ;)

Looking forward to seeing some pics when you get it Grim. It may be the only version we see, for a while (at least!)

Black is actually black/green Golf. But I am certain they didn't need to buy gen for this. But they need a gen for Captain's (which they had) and for Skyfall, because blue is hardest to replicate.

And looking here, they certainly need to perfect the datewheel, but that probably won't happen. Golf version in particular has even bolder/wider numbers than Captain's and Gauss. Same goes for black/white/grey/blue.

Actually looking here, Captain's DW is not off at all:

Numbers don't seem to be bold.

This all blue is the one Omega should make:

Btw, does anyone have an idea how do these reps sell? I got answer from PC that he sold 3 the first day, 5th of October.

I don't think they sell very well, but it was probably known before they started making it, that it is not as popular as PO.

tbh grim, it's hard to know what they bought for the replication, jandrew may have to you they bought the captains, and if I or anyone else asked they would tell them what they wanted to hear also. I think it is more likely they bought one of the more vastly more common colours such as the grey or blue and did all of the ones listed from that, stuff like the captains/golf/gauss are much harder to find and wouldn't normally be the type they'd buy if they wanted to mass replicate from the one watch. I don't think the dw is accurate on any, it is the weakest part, you are right though it seems to be a little less bold on the gen captains than the others so that one is closer. I also wonder how subtle things like the brushed markers look. Glad to see them out though. I may pick one up if I have time and do a comparison vs grey gen soon, will hold on to see if blue appears ;)

I think they sell less than a sports watch such as PO etc, but I think the problem is more down to blue/grey being the most popular colours and the ones people would buy most!

Let us know how you find yours when it arrives.

Uhmm... Captain's seems the best of the lot so far, if hands color is close to be accurate we have a winner.

I do hope they will release the 39mm AT too, blue or black is fine for me.

Agree, the 39mm is the main seller by far and it should be done, I've had the gen grey for a while now as a tester and it is way too big for anything but large 7.5"++ wrists imo...but reps seem to be in this ridiculous 'bigger is always better' mode for a while now which doesn't help. I'd wear the 41mm but find it better on an alligator strap as its too chunky on bracelet. The older 39mm are much slimmer in height so wear so much better. No stats but from people I've talked to on omega forums seems about 4 out of 5 AT 8500 buyers go for the smaller size, regardless of wrist size. We may have to wait for another factory to do the 39mm it if BP don't oblige.

No doubt it wears larger than a Planet Ocean or SMP. :)

I was about to pull the trigger on a Mark XVII (41mm too and available in the cheap 21j version) but the AT looks overall better good looking and I love the super comfortable brushed bracelet.

As cougar1, I ll also be waiting a while for the 39mm version although the Captain's AT is extremely tempting at the moment.

This is what Josh wrote:
The Gen use is the white with blue hands.

Blue is still in the making ..

They don't have the gen Skyfall, so I don't think I will buy it.

Better to wait for puretime's version, but he said that the maker bought the grey one, so I don't have high hopes for that either.

For now it really looks that Captain's will be the best for a long time.

I am looking at this one http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=35_66&products_id=11278 ... and i am pretty excited. :D This is exactly what i begged for. Love the Golf Limited version. Overall it looks fine. But yeah, the date font maybe should be a little bolder, but i.e. compared it to this gen, it looks like the thin font may be ok as well. Do you think there are two DWO versions for gens or it is just angle of the photo?

So i think that this one looks really really good imho. Anyways this is going to be though for my wallet - most likely my wallet will commit suicide untill end of the year:

1. TC V5 16610 with KH dial (gen 16610 LN instert waiting home already) - ordered, waiting :)

2. Omega Aqua Terra Golf - must have :D

3. IWC 3777 - must have as well (until i make my way to gen 3714-38)

lol. :D

Looks like you are correct, here is the 2011 version and the font is thin:

I think the bold one is 2013 version.

PC and TT now corrected the Captain's, 2836-2 instead of 2824-2.

+1

Imho font is correct here and we are looking on a very nice rep here guys. Lume is great, dial printing looks fine as well, omega logo on the dial, gently brushed steel markers, everything looks fine to me.

I see only one flaw:

1. If you look closely to 8500 movement markings, the script ADJUSTED TO is misspelled as ADJUSTE DTO. On the other hand rep movement will never look like gen 8500 so this is OK even for OCD guy like me :D Moreover it is swiss 2836-2 movement so it should be easier to service.

post-40168-0-40763200-1382266663_thumb.j

Some say on the RWI and RG that the clasp code on the rep is 1587/693 instead of 1587/986. I think this is the difference between the model as well. Here is a bracelet sold on WUS and the clasp code is 1587/693 so it seems to be correct as well (i tried to make it more visible by PS):

post-40168-0-95358400-1382269383_thumb.j

Also dunno if this is a flaw or just a difference between versions like in DWO case or clasp codes, but some of the Aqua Terra Golf versions have one of the endlinks etched. However endlink on the particular bracelet above is not etched 985.

These are the only flaws i can see. Moreover they are visible only if you take your watch down from your wrist and let somebody closely inspect it. For 99,9 % of time if you keep it on the wrist, clasp, dial, logo, lume and finish make it a super rep. Imho this one is a super rep as missing endlink etching, 1587/693 clasp code and tinny DWO seem to be correct.
