IWC 5002 Big Pilot Alligator strap source

Finding nice genuine alligator straps for our Big Pilots at a reasonable price is a problem most of us encounter I believe.... No rep, or used gen strap can give me satisfaction, and I won't pay 400+ euros for a strap I'll have to change a year or two later....

 

I found a maker in China who is offering to make gen american alligator straps for apx 100 euros per strap, with all markings, if a minimum order of 50 straps is placed at once. I for one would buy two : a black and a brown, but I'm short of 48 straps here.

 

I have purchased one first strap from them to see if the quality is good enough, and I must say I was very pleased when I got it. I posted pics below of my 5002 to share with you.

 

I tried to catch all angles to clearly show all the details of the strap, the quality of the rubber finishing and the stitching. The marking could be improved, but overall this strap is a knock out for me !

 

By the way, they also can make rep panerai straps in gen alligator..... I will do the same post on the Panerai area later to see the response.

Would these be exclusively for IWCs? If the maker is willing to make a couple straps for other watches - I'm more than happy to buy 2, one for my hublot, and another for my AP.

They make for Panerai too, with rep buckle and rep panerai packaging....; They have stocks for Radiomir alligator strap in black... And plenty designs for 24mm pannies.

I got an answer from the maker today. They have stocks of Hublot straps, but in leather only, no alligator.... No straps for AP. I requested a pic of the Hublot strap

does he need 50 straps of the same make/dimensions/etc or 50 straps regardless of brand/model/etc.?

2) 1 green alligator with black stitch for IWC 3717

3) 1 black alligator with black stitch for Pams

4) 1 tan alligator with black stitch for Pams (depending on tan colour tone)

5) 1 AP ROO strap, if available.

Regardless of brand, model, color, etc.... If they have the matrix and the leather (alli or other) in stock. If it is special, then it is 100 pcs of one design.

Fantastic straps! I need exactly the dark green one as on your photos, but with 21mm at the lugs. Is it possible to join the order? Would you forward the strap to germany?

 

If you cannot complete the 50 pieces for your order: will you give us the link to your source? Possibly they sell smaller numbers.

any chance of getting them to do an accurate brown buffalo with creme stitching (that matches the original big pilot 5002 strap)?  i'd be in for one of those.
