Seadweller4000 Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 My good old Sub which I wore during my military service got less and less wristtime and it looked pretty battered. I decided to give it a new look. First, I took it into pieces, removing all gaskets, the insert and the crystal. I asked a friend to make it a pvd-sub. We sandblasted it and let it into the chemical bath. This is what came out. Unfortunately - the steel did not respond as we hoped. My friend was very surprised, that a replica would be of such a good steel-quality. Anyway, we both did not like the result. My buddy told me that he could give it a stone or titane look. He then blasted it with tiny glass-stones and this is what turned out: Wristshot I love it. So what do you think of my fantasywatch?
lovepanerai Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 looks fabulous I wonder how that would look on my Navitimer Series Special, probably better than the brushed look.
FxrAndy Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 Me Too and the wife, a nice change to the whole look. Dont show rolex! Also reminds me of the Sinn U1/U2 look to the metal.
