irolexu Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 Mymanmatt does it again and again! The restoration project is done! Just need a gen strap and that's it! Watch came in needing a new movement, second hand and bezel assembly. The watch is an early 1.2 million serial with the smaller GMT hand 1
dbane883 Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 Luv it! Little arrow rocks. Crystal looks off though.
lionsandtigers Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 oh yeah. that faded insert is perfection. nice job
dr_rolex Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 Looks perfect Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
irolexu Posted February 12, 2014 Author Report Posted February 12, 2014 I faded the insert myself on the first try! Never have I faded an insert before that. I think the angle of the camera makes it appear off.
AsiadeCuba Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 welcome to the 1675 club! thats a keeper. why not change the crystal and get a brushed silver datewheel to top it off

panerai153 Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 M, That's looking good. I'm not a big fan of really faded inserts, but considering the age and look of that particular watch, it all goes together. That is a very, very nice watch. What are you thinking about for a band? those came on either an Oyster bracelet or a Jubilee, and either would look really nice.
alligoat Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 Being that your GMT is '63-65 or so, a 7206 riveted bracelet w/ 80 end pieces would go well. After that a 7836 w/ 280 ends would work. A 78360 w/ 580 ends would be like a later replacement and 62510 w/ 550 ends would be the jubilee part #.
irolexu Posted February 13, 2014 Author Report Posted February 13, 2014 Thanks alligoat I have my eye on that rivet strap
