The Seiko virus got me again and since I already bought a Seiko Marine Master 300 and a Seiko Solar Diver Chrono I felt the need for something dressy but still masculine I'd love to get me a GS but at the time I decided to buy this Seiko here I still thought I'd like to keep my 5513 rep. Well...what shall I say...I decided to keep this blue faced Seiko and still want to buy a GS so I have to sell my 5513...that's how life goes isn't it?? So I read a lot about Seiko GS the last few weeks and there is one thing that always pops up...a lot of the GS don't have lume...something that always hold me back. But...almost any GS owner says that the hands and indices reflect the tiniest bit of light they can catch and so they are readable when there is at least some light, unlike some of the lumed watches which aren't lumed well. One can read them at night, but not at dawn. The hands of the SARX005 are the same that are used at some Seiko GS and so I'm able to make my own experience with it without spending thousands for a Seiko GS And that dial...man...I love it...one has to love it...it's unbelievable what light (and the lack of ) can do to that dial. I had a lot of blue watches in the past...gen and rep, dressy, sporty, diver...none of them was such a beauty. The only thing that is a little disappointing is the bracelet. Seiko has some problems at this point...the non GS bracelets are always a bit cheap or at least not as good as the watch itself is. But maybe there is a possibility to mount a GS bracelet to it...the only thing that is holding me back is that I have to spend the same money for a GS bracelet that I spent for the whole watch...well...we'll see SARX005 Automatic 6R15 With hack +25～-15 seconds/day Sapphire glass Skeleton back SS case & bracelet 50hours power reserve 10bar water resistance weight 145 g thick 12.9mm case size 47.8 x 40.5mm Here is a very nice video of the watch that actually lead me to buy it Pics: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

One of your earlier Seiko posts got me thinking about Seiko for the first time and inspired me to look for a Marine Master Diver. These are some amazing watches. When I started thinking about it, they're superior to most "Swiss" watches in very important ways. 1. They make their own movements 2. They quality and reliability of the movement is unsurpassed 3. They're actual tool watches. People actually wear them for their "intended" purpose. These are exceptional timepieces that have real wrist presence. I think I may have the Seiko bug. Ronin Posted June 24, 2014 Report Share Posted June 24, 2014 I have a Seiko SPRING DRIVE GMT SNR015 and absolutely LOVE IT! (Basically a GS, targeted for US Market before they officially brought the GS to the USA in 2012.) My vintage Seiko's are on-par, as a tool watch, with my Rolex's (Gen). Great brand. My 20yr old Seiko Diver is my daily beater. Serviced once in 20yrs by Zigmeister. Images of what I have (harvested from the net): Gotta love the 72 hour power reserve & SMOOTH sweep.
