Gav_tt225 Posted August 20, 2014 Report Posted August 20, 2014 Ok so I'm about to pull the trigger on watch number 5 and it's been a while since I've bought one. I've bought all of them thus far from Trusty but I see Toro also has decent reviews and stocks the noob DSSD. Has anyone had any experience with this watch from toro by any chance? Tried pure time for stock but still no answer unfortunately. Really can't wait to get my hands on this beauty. Think I've only found 1 post about the DSSD from toro so just hoping some others can help. Cheers.
GenTLe Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 Noob is a guarantee. Toro is good. Go for it
Gav_tt225 Posted August 21, 2014 Author Report Posted August 21, 2014 Paid by credit card this afternoon and QC pics just now. Not happy with a few points tho. No timegrapher pic like other dealers and seems to be a tiny hair next to 5 marker. Also no pictures of bracelet and clasp. Just asked for these so will keep posted.
Journeyman Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 I know its a bit late now, I always used to Andrew but of late I've been using intime and have found Ryan great to deal with, the whole Paypal issue with Toro puts me off using him.
Gav_tt225 Posted August 21, 2014 Author Report Posted August 21, 2014 (edited) I did consider intime also and may give Ryan a shot next time. Edited August 21, 2014 by Gav_tt225
GenTLe Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 Not an expert on Rollies. Just one advise always valid on reps: don't think that, since a watch looks a diving one, you can wear it at the pool or sea. Make it been water tested before to be safe...
Hyjynx Posted August 22, 2014 Report Posted August 22, 2014 (edited) Looks good. Got mine from Toro too. One of the best TDs, IMHO. By the way, don't let a gimmicky timegrapher fool ya - you could still get a DOA notwithstanding. "Such a lovely place.... This could be Heaven or this could be Hell. Gav_tt225 Posted August 22, 2014 Author Report Posted August 22, 2014 Thanks for the advice guys. Just given green light as it was just dirt on the face I had noticed. I'll post some pics as soon as it's in my hands!
Nightwatch Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 Just looked briefly and it looks good if the dust at min 27 is gone. Great watch, nice insert. After silicon-greasing crown&backscase o-ring and testing should be fine for swimming&light snorchel diving. Here is a rep/gen comparison to pass the time:) http://www.bernardwatch.com/blog/rolex-sea-dweller-deepsea-116660-fake-vs-real-comparison/

I'm hoping the comparison was an earlier version than the latest noob tho lol. Any ideas on whom is able to carry out the work you mentioned with the greasing and o-ring?

Any ideas on whom is able to carry out the work you mentioned with the greasing and o-ring? Depends where you are. Always always always put your location when asking such questions. We've people from Australia to US passing through EU here.

Gav_tt225 Posted September 1, 2014 Author Report Posted September 1, 2014 Finally it's here!! Possibly the best rep in my collection by far! It's just flawless in every way and has great wrist presence. Large but not overbearing like my super avenger. The crown turns beautifully and the bezel has a nice responsive click all the the way round. Only gripe is that under the Clasp where the Rolex badge is located. Looks like someone got trigger happy with a dremmel and scratched it but no drama as it will never be seen. Very happy with forking out this amount of cash and toro was goo to deal with. Crappy iphone pics to follow as soon as I'm home.
indywatchguy Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 Congrats! Nice piece! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
wanlo Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 It is nice, your insert looks better than mine. I am planning to put a gen insert to it to make it looks even better. 1

Thanks for the compliments guys this one is a beauty. On real grip is the scratch under the clasp, not if it was intentional or how it would happen in production. I'll post a pic.
Gav_tt225 Posted September 9, 2014 Author Report Posted September 9, 2014 (edited) Annoying scratch under Rolex clasp!! Not sure how/why this happened. Unfortunately didn't get a pic of clasp or bracelet on QC even after asking for them. Edited September 9, 2014 by Gav_tt225
Ezio Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 Mate dont worry about that its not something that ruin the watch in anyway its a rep not a gen But if it bothers you to Much buy a replacement clasp
Gav_tt225 Posted September 9, 2014 Author Report Posted September 9, 2014 Mate dont worry about that its not something that ruin the watch in anyway its a rep not a gen But if it bothers you to Much buy a replacement clasp Nah it doesn't bother me that much just thought I was onto a winner with this one. Every rep I have seems to have one flaw or other just one of those things. Rest of the watch makes up for it tho!!
436NR Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 I've got a BK DSSD and I have to say that it's farg'in amazing looking! 1
