schumi1
Hey everyone. Just purchased a gen Daytona. It's the Paul Newman Lemon dial. Not too sure about it. I like it but would love peoples opinion. Any comments are welcome. Thanks
kcawsey
Never seen a lemon face daytona, love it! Wear it with pride
ceejay
What makes it a Paul Newman, I thought Newman dials had the Art Deco style sub dials?
username here
correct. this is not a Paul Newman. The last lemon dial PN I'm aware of was offered for sale at auction. It sold for a little more than $800,000.
cc33
Very nice, it's the modern model that ppl call "paul newman" although the true paul newman watches were the vintage ones. I like it, wear it well, it will def grab lots of attention. Be careful!

coffindodger
yep nice! but don't go flashing it around in the pub unless you want a whack on the back of the head and wake up with no watch.
schumi1
Thanks for all your comments. It's much appreciated. Yes off course it's not the original Paul Newman. But they do these dials every once in awhile For example these are also Paul Newman dial

schumi1
@lionsandtigers thanks. how much u think it would cost to insure ?
lionsandtigers
Depends. I have a gen 68 1675 and my wife's diamonds and I pay 300 and change a year for all of it. I use jewelers mutual Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
panerai153
@lionsandtigers thanks. how much u think it would cost to insure ? If you have a homeowners insurance policy, you can get a jewelry and watch rider to your policy. My insurance company offers it, however they require either a sales invoice or an appraisal by a recognized jeweler or watchmaker. lionsandtigers
Panerai153 is correct. But they have to offer it and you need to read the fine print. I rent in nyc so it's only covered very little. Had to get something seperate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
dbane883
To buy a watch like that, I would think you'd have to LOVE it...no looking back and second guessing yourself. I love it. Would not wear it because it screams "look at me!", but I can appreciate it on others. Wear it well.
droptopman
Yep, good idea to insure these type of items. My underwriters policy is about $400 a year and fully covers jewelry, home theater, and my golf club collection. They did not ask for invoices but pictures of the items. No deductible. Kind of expensive but suppose to be hassle free in event of loss..... Sent from my droptop using telepathy.
