tframo Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Guys, I have a TC V6 that i would like to put a 3135 into. Problem is that a 3135 wont fit on TC KH Dial What other options do i have besides going Gen Dial too?
tomhorn Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 (edited) Clip the dial feet and/or reposition them. You will also need new hands. Edited December 29, 2014 by tomhorn
dbane883 Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 you could reposition the feet ... but this is not an easy task.
Ezio Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Clip the dial feet and/or reposition them. You will also need new hands. What he Said did it on mine
misiekped Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 How about the date centering? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ephry73 Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Easiest way is to get a Sean dial or alike With correct Feet position.
jigelow Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 I like going to extremes as much as the next guy, but why go with a Y3135 if you don't already have a gen dial and/or hands? In would think an ETA would be cheaper and a better out-of-the-box upgrade if you don't already have gen parts.
tframo Posted December 29, 2014 Author Report Posted December 29, 2014 Thanks for the insight guys. I'm prob gonna go with a gen dial
Ephry73 Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Thanks for the insight guys. I'm prob gonna go with a gen dial If you do, make sure it is the correct dial for the case. I know sometimes prices of "gen" and gen dials may lead us on an entire different path.
droptopman Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 T, I had this same thought. Putting a Yuki 3135 in my incoming TC LV with a gen insert, crown/tube and crystal. But as I started examining this, it seems it would make more sense to just put in a high grade Swiss ETA and keep the existing TC parts. Since TC dial and hands are quite good does not make sense to go the y3135 route for me on this piece. Not even sure why I am doing any of this since I am in the vintage craze anyways......but I have always had a thing for the LV and the maxi dial. Plus the green is pretty much Seahawk green. Go Hawks! Now if I was starting from scratch and just had a TC case set--then that may be a whole different plan. Sourcing a gen dial, hands, DWO and all the other goodies would make for a great build and may make more sense. Be expensive obviously but be a fun build.
