Super franken DSSD

Legend

Recommended Posts

I just completed the project today.

Most of the watch was bought from member Watchfreund, who by the way is a gentleman and a very helpful member. I was new to Rolex, and he guided and helped me along whenever he could, even when he was on the move in USA. Thank you kindly A.

The watch has the following parts/features

a. Gen Mark 1 DSSD dial

b. Gen DSSD hands

c. The second hand is a gen red yachtmaster hand, for that customized look

d. Gen Rolex 3135 movement, serviced and regulated by Spinmaster in Singapore

e. Gen Rolex datewheel

f. Gen DSSD bezel and insert

g. Gen DSSD crown and tube

h. Modded Noob caseset to accept the gen bezel assembly, custom shaved crownguards

i. Painted rehaut text

j. sealed HEV

k. Single AR crystal

l. Gunny bund strap for DSSD

You are more than welcome. Thank you for the kind words. Appreciate our contact and that the watch went in the hands of a true gentleman here.

Such a beautiful piece with the GEN movement now. Good job. Enjoy it.

Ah, I was wondering how long it would be before you came along brother. Thank you for your exceedingly kind comments.

You shouldn't be insulting a watch which you have been dying to buy. I put it there for you specifically. How could you?

LOL. I am thinking of a teju lizard or a matt black alligator.

It's subtle but looks luxurious.

Well they are pricey but hey that watch deserve the best strap money can buy.

Another option if you want rugged look then a swiss ammo or german ammo from dangerous9 will look mighty nice.

Thank you very kindly for your suggestion.. I would go look at the matte black gator and also a possible ammo one..or both.

hmm, you are toxic bro. haha

Beautiful build here, nicest build of this model I have seen.  Great to see you in the Rolex area.

Thank you very kindly, and I am glad to join the Rolex area too, despite being a complete noob here.

I am be happy if you and others could kindly guide me, I really am new to Rollies and could do with a lot of help.

Other than that, its great fun to engage you and others in the "word association" thread! ;)

No doubt, very much enjoy the word association thread interaction. Good laughs.

We will have to get you into a vintage Rolex build next.

Could you please post pictures of how the crown is sitting now? Did the case need to be redrilled to accommodate gen stem height?

I am unsure. Watchfreund would be in a better position to answer your question ;)

But I'll try to get you the pic you requested. ;)

The crown was not repositioned as far as I know. Maybe you make a picture from the right side straight on the crown logo?
