Breitling Superocean Steelfish blue dial newbie review, stingray watch strap.

Hi, I feel this is an underrated rep. Here are my main observations. 

 

- Purchased this from Toro (blue dial one is out of stock now). Watch arrived on time in perfect working condition.

- Build quality is good and the watch feels solid.

- Blue dial with concentric circles is absolutely beautiful to look at.

- Movement is behaving nicely (no loose parts).

- I think they have done a good job on the bracelet, feels like real thing.

- Case-set is finished well.

 

Also, including some pics of the watch with blue stingray strap (well made and $79 from Ebay).

SOSF is certainly not an underrated rep...it's just been out forever and is not currently "in style". I have an ancient black dial fish and it's a great watch. In fact, I sold my gen Steelfish years ago because I didn't believe it to be worth $1400 more than my rep.

There's  a new (2014) superocean steelfish chrono (in blue and other colors). Looks awesome, I hope they rep it soon.

I have the white dial steelfish rep from about 2007 I think, was what I believe the best replica back then, and looks like it still is.

Took it out of the drawer for the first time in many years this week, and it still runs smooth after shaking it up a bit. Going to give it some wrist-time this summer since my gen Navitimer does not do well at the beach

That stingray is beautiful. The SOSF is a very good rep but after wearing a Super Avenger for so long the fish feels too small.

I don't think blue dial steelfish is available anymore. I recently checked with a few TDs and they did not have it in stock.

Sometimes you just got to improve an already great rep. Here's my blue steelfish with profsteve's 2 X AR crystal.

 

 

Here's the watch on a gen pro3 rubber strap (the tang buckle is polished) with my grail Seiko MarineMaster (sbdx001).

 

There are a couple of more strap options I want to try . So stay tuned....
