Sbybbuser Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 Hi I got offered this watch. Can anybody notice anything fishy with the watch? It looks legit to me. But again, I am no expert. Thanks for the help
sputim Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 Looks gen to me. Take a look at the cg's they look correct and also the movement from what I can see.
Sbybbuser Posted March 11, 2015 Author Report Posted March 11, 2015 I believe it has all gen parts. I am just not sure whether all parts are periodically correct. The case has 3.8mil serial. Thanks
alligoat Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 Circa 1973 makes it early. The funky crown emblem on the dial means it's referred to as a 'frog dial'. Bracelet is correct for the period. Everything looks pretty original to me.
panerai153 Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 Looks fine. I wouldn't worry too much unless you think it's completely put together from spare parts. that's a 40+ year old watch, so more than likely the crown, tube, crystal have been changed, which would be normal. Do you have any service history? No indication form the inside of the caseback.
alterego Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 Eventhough have owned several gen Rolex watches through the years, like the classic Datejust, Oysterdate,GMT and Submariners plus the venerable Explorer 1665 DR and 1016, I don't consider myself and expert. Still, the watch looks genuine to me. If you have the chance to hold the watch in your hand and strap it tpo your wrist you'll immediately know. I can´t't explain but it´s just like that. By the way, can you tell how muh they want for it ? If the price is significantly bellow the average paid for in ebay (check completed items) that could be something to be concerned. Good luck with your try.
rolojack Posted March 14, 2015 Report Posted March 14, 2015 looks gen to me too.... If it's a rep, it's a 3000+ usd vietnam rep with gen movement and all...
