ThePunisherXIX Posted October 2, 2015 Report Posted October 2, 2015 Hi guys,Seen this Sub 5513 on ebay, never seen one like this and dial look to be refinished! Is this model ever existed? And which logo is this?http://www.ebay.com/itm/252110435221?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D252110435221%26_rdc%3D1Thank you
droptopman Posted October 2, 2015 Report Posted October 2, 2015 Interesting, the serial number is from 1965/66, but case back is from 68 and the dial is an earlier format. Pictures are terrible so it is tough to tell. I have seen other logo dials but I could not find one when searching for a 5513 reference with the "Arab Shield".
ThePunisherXIX Posted October 2, 2015 Author Report Posted October 2, 2015 I believe the dial is fake too!And i believe this never existed in real Rolex!
gemballa Posted October 2, 2015 Report Posted October 2, 2015 (edited) Hmmm... there have been many different Arabic dials over the years but I have never seen one quite like that before. I would maybe err on the side of caution. Edited October 2, 2015 by gemballa
panerai153 Posted October 2, 2015 Report Posted October 2, 2015 I would have to be skeptical about this one. Just doesn't look correct to me. Bad photos, engraving between the lugs looks like they are worn out, dial is suspect. Too many alarm bells! Also the seller has a GMT 1675 for sale that looks like it has a gold numbered insert, and the photos are equally bad. Case is really beat up, pitting and no engraving between the lugs Also the Caseback engraving of the year looks like someone obliterated it with a chisel. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
DC109 Posted October 3, 2015 Report Posted October 3, 2015 The first bit of "Arabic" above the cannons doesn't say anything. The part below seems to say "al-makramti," which doesn't mean anything, an isn't a name Google has ever heard of.
Beachcomber Posted October 6, 2015 Report Posted October 6, 2015 Punched papers on something this old? Weren't they penned and inked? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Beachcomber Posted October 7, 2015 Report Posted October 7, 2015 It's a hodgepodge of crap, faked, forged, etc. designed to make even P.T. Barnum jealous. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
RickFlorida Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 Someone paid nearly 8,000 dollars for it. So how fake can it be? Or did someone just overpay for an original movement with an original case and fake dial?
