Bart Cordell
You would not use superglue. Buy G-S Hypo Cement to glue plexi and insert. You can use an hair dryer to remove plexi. The bezel retaining spring is not reachable on new silix build. On these photos from old bezel on HF bonesey tutorial you can see the springGood luck ! djulink
Hi, thanks for the tip. But It turns out I had one spare dome crystal orignally for my TC BC 6200 that does fit perfectly Big Daz' case (30,6mm), so I used it: And Imho, those builds look soooo much better with a lower dome crystal.I do have the same tools that you have, any tips for the bevels job (with the dremel) ? Bart Cordell
Find a good gen 6538 lug photo, then have a good feeling before start. First I cut top lug edge with dremel #402 disk without trembling. Be careful, it shave quickly. And I correct with #431.I sand mid case side and bevel separately to keep the edge. 240, 400, 600, 1000 sand paper successively. 1500 would be better to finish but I can't find it in my place. Then polish side and bevel separately. Always separately to keep the chamfers edges.I don't know if it's the good way, but it worked for me.

Bart Cordell
Hi ! After having completed my 6610 and 5500 Explorers project, and a 6538 project for a friend, I decided to make some improvements on my 6538. Silix case sanded and polished again. More brassy colored Bezel. JK hours and minutes hands aged and lumed. Tiger White lollipop lumed. ETA 2788. Sternkreuz XS 303 472 plexi. True gilt super glossy dial. Riyi river bracelet.

Mendota Explorer
Yes! I honestly have to say that I decided not to pursue a 6538 and 6200 budget build because the parts just didn't seem to be worth it. After seeing this latest revision you did, I'm back on board! I want to make one of each. That dial is beautiful. What are JK hands? Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
