Help needed for stripped crown/tube on new style CPO.

Hi @ll. The dreaded crown/tube stripping issue has claimed another victim and was wondering if any of the members knew where I could source a gen crown and tube? I have seen the new style crown on ebay. Does anyone know if the old style tube will fit? Its the 42mm version.

Just clip the stem and make it a pull out crown. I did the same to my CPO. It's crown is notorious to strip. It will still be perfectly waterproof!

Thanks all for your responses. Could I just ask @Rolexman How much is a sensible amount to trim? (I assume its from the crown end of the stem.....Sorry bit of a noob again)

Correct. Crown end of stem. Just measure the distance between the bottom of the crown (when it is in unlocked position = hand winding position) and the case. Most of the time it is no more than 1~1,5 mm. Don't start with clipping too much. It's trail & error. Just small clipping of 1-3 stem threads until you are satisfied with the position of the crown ( flat against the case). Than secure the stem with some rapid glue in the crown thread again.

A huge thank you to @Rolexman. Trimming the stem worked a treat and my beloved beater is now back where she belongs. Top marks for such a simple but effective fix .

This is where I usually go gen crown/tube. but this solution works as well!
