Sogeha
Some years ago I had some small items gold plated by a working goldsmith. It was quite inexpensive and there are options of using a low carat gold or even an alloy of gold. Would it be an option to get a couple of dials plated like Tempus Machina do and see what they turn out like?
Bart Cordell
@SogehaA gold plating would be the best option. I need to find a jeweler who accept to make that for me.
Sogeha
I've seen a few listings on eBay. This is the first one I found on a quick search: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gold-Plating-Service-/232179470488?hash=item360ef99098:g:oM4AAOSw2GlXGgnZ Might be worth a search and a couple of enquiries.
slay
Before you buy a gold plating device, make sure to research the chemicals. The ones that you need to do a good plating are very toxic and can kill you upon contact if handled improperly (Cyanide!). I speak from experience @Bart Cordell apologies for the delay emailing you back, I was quite busy traveling etc. over the past few months, I'll share some of my results with you soon. Bart Cordell
@slayDon't worry, I know we are all very busy.I saw your dial in your last 6538 sale thread. What do you think of the template ?Yes just read that gold plating is very toxic. I don't project to do it myself
Sogeha
The listings I was looking at are for a gold plating service, which I think would be cheaper and safer for such a low volume.

Bart Cordell
@SogehaNo didn't take time to create dials those weeks. Too much work and all my hobby time was taken to repair and service my DW 7750 movement.

Sogeha
Post that in both threads Bart, it's worth the coverage. Then see if you can get @hologramet to do a run of gold plated Tempus Machina dials :-)

Sogeha
I didn't mean by the method you use. If he could arrange with HR to send plated dials and get back the current printing on a gold dial, it would be sweet.

hologramet
This is not impossible at all, actually I'll see what I can do for the 809H Tempus Machina dials.. The lume will be done by the Vietnamese, and included in the price using tinted Superluminova BGW9...
