jelliottz
What do you think RWG? Is this a genuine 6536? Says it's pre-1959. Something doesn't feel right to me. All service dial/hands/insert? Aftermarket? What are your thoughts?Sent from my SM-N920P using TapatalkPictures always help.Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
alligoat
It's going to take more than one pic, but off hand I'd say the dial is too pretty for an almost 60 year old watch and the chances of a mint condition insert are slim to none. Hands are replacement hands no doubt. And what about the seller??
dbane883
Dial is aftermarket or a redial. Gen on top:The hands are most likely lumi service.Insert is aftermarket.Tough to comment further on the mid case and bezel.
RickFlorida
I see this on eBay all day long that listings say original but they never mention the replaced parts. They get away with it even more with Tudor subs it seems. One recent listing even said "restamped case"... Which to me was a flag that they bought an after market case. When I asked if the case was a aftermarket they just said the watch is original without explaining why a case would be "restamped". I'm a total newbie. So I just assume it's all aftermarket except movements because movements are difficult to fake. So buy only with a 30 day inspection period and you are safe.

jelliottz
It was the "special guest" at a RedBar event I was supposed to attend but wasn't able to make it. A friend sent me a picture raving about how I missed it. This was the only picture he sent me, but it immediately didn't look right to me. Spending too much time here and researching pictures, I guess. My gut was right. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
jelliottz
Here's one for comparison. Yours is a beauty. Even better story standing behind it. Here's mine. It isn't it a Rolex, but it's vintage, the gilt is real (negative relief), and the crown is small (6.5mm).
