Apple Iphone

you know WHY it has so much RAM? because windows mobile is so awfully slow that their newly developed UI (which is not native windows mobile!) is extremely laggy. On the iPhone, you press your finger an an App, and its just there. You dont have to wait 5 seconds for anything to load. It just works.

What about the Blackberry Storm 9530? I'm very keen to try out that one!

I've just been reminded a big reason why I prefer memory cards - I don't bother with the USB key/pen drives anymore as I just carry around this tiny memory card reader... I've just transferred some training materials from a course last week to my computer... I've moved around installation files on training courses as well, to get computer software to work etc. It comes in so useful !

Pfffft!

AirSharing FTW!

AirSharing effectively turns your phone into a wifi Webdav server. So much better than USB Nubbins, as you can read the DOCs, PDFs, XLSs on the phone.

Good product...but...

I was doing something else... moving installation files around from computers in a training room set-up. No network setup there either (no network cables, routers, network points, bluetooth or wireless cards). Half of the computers weren't working running the training software properly, and the trainer didn't know how to fix it so I had to do it (or miss out on what he was teaching!). Only way I could was to take working files from one computer and re-install the standalone SQL Server on each computer, then get the database set up, configured and running properly, etc etc. Only thing I had was the memory card in my phone and the tiny USB reader on the keyring.

This is the one that came free with the memory card:

Though the above program sounds pretty good and will be great for everyone :tu:

But for a work thing, I wouldn't have paid my own money for it, and if you knew the kind of place I work in you'd know they wouldn't either ;)

Yes I'm underpaid! :(

And yes I'm cheap (poor) ... I'm still getting bytor's links for Pro Evo from rapidshare on the free accounts... they make you wait 15 mins between each throttled download! Days later I've got upto file 28 :D

I've never wanted a Windows Mobile phone... a few guys at work have it and love them... but more Windows? Just puts me off!

The Blackberry Storm 9530 is for the US I think ... it'll work everywhere in the world though as it is CDMA AND GSM (it has the right 3G frequencies for South Korea/Japan too!). The rest of the world release is the GSM only 9500 which will work all around the world too, but probably go onto a GSM network in the US, instead of Verizon's CDMA. I heard the Verizon 3G network is the best and fastest in the US... a common complain I've come across from iPhone users on AT&T.

I think the Storm is the only touchscreen phone that's exciting me at the moment, and that's partly because of the clickable screen.

Downside is no wi-fi so I guess tariffs are going to have to give true unlimited data usage... Then again, I have only ever bothered using wi-fi on my N82 at home. T-Mobile 3G seems to be pretty good where I am.

Oh yeah, for those who actually use their phone as a phone, ie. for calls, the Storm has a 2nd microphone at the back to aid in it's background noise cancellation.. I thik there's a Samsung or LG that is implementing this as well... probably become standard in the next year or 2.

I got AirSharing when it was free. :)

Lucky bu**er.. but why am I not surprised? :tu:

Can you share your installation file for free with everyone else ? ;)

I'm now getting file 29 of 38...

Now here's something for you to debunk.. if anyone can, Pugwash can!

Great way for a company to get free feedback too!

Debunk?

It's not an Apple site, if that's what you mean. The guys behind it work at FullSix, a new media agency.

Apple most likely don't read it and definitely don't pay attention to what's there. They have their own researchers and their own top-three feature lists.

I know it's not an Apple site... a lot of the requests there have probably been filled for by apps already, right ?
