Submariner 6538

So after practicing builds with silix and he cases I finally took the plunge and got a nice Vietnam case and dial and put together a nice 6538 sub.

I used a 2824 movement with h4 cannon pinion

I sanded the nickel plating from the bezel and aged the insert a bit and added an athaya pearl (the colour dried lighter than I wanted tho)

I aged the hands (maybe too much) and I think I will add a big ball second hand soon,

Overall I'm pretty happy with how it turned out

I don't think the hands look excessively aged, they are meant to look over sixty years old. I think they look rather good, as does the rest of the build.

Thanks guys, I've ordered a big ball second hand from HR, very reasonably priced too, $10 posted , I'll age it to match, I used an HR second hand on my 6200 as well and think it'll be a nice addition to the 6538

So I had a bit of trouble with the new big crown last night, I was staring at it and flicking the light off of the gilt dial and admiring my grail watch and the wife got the hump with me and asked if I was bored and why am I staring at the time constantly,
I tried to explain that I was just admiring the watch I'd built, she didn't get It, she then said 'So much for date night then you sad w@nker
And then took herself off to the spare room.

Further specs as follows. Movement is an ETA 2846, hour and minute hands JKH, second hand Tiger concept. Pearl, crown and tube Athaya. Bracelet Yuki. Crystal SK HW 306.
