Sogeha Posted October 6, 2017 Report Posted October 6, 2017 I'm thinking about a Christmas present for my long term favourite. For a Phong 5508 are there any better options than this? http://vintagewatchesmq.com/minhquy/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=872&category_id=146&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1 1
freddy333 Posted October 6, 2017 Report Posted October 6, 2017 It has been a few years since I last purchased a new manufacture dial, but, from what I have seen in recent posts, MQ still appears to be the top dog. Just make sure you receive pics of the watch you will receive & check it carefully before he ships. This is my 5508 reference - 1
Sogeha Posted October 6, 2017 Author Report Posted October 6, 2017 Thanks @freddy333 That's a nice gen BTW. I definitely need a dial and hands, the lume dot is in completely the wrong place on the Phong hands and the minute is a touch too short. Dial from MQ, hands from Micheal Young and movement and crown from the R factory, and im done.
Nanuq Posted October 6, 2017 Report Posted October 6, 2017 Now yer talkin... that's a good ingredients list. Remember to put up photos as you bring it along. 1
hologramet Posted October 11, 2017 Report Posted October 11, 2017 I have a brown "tropical" 5508.. With a high grit wire brush to give the surface a hazy look, and some light paint to give the lume uneven tint and/or the salt/egg-method it might look sweet. It's yours for next to nothing. Putting ad up later today. /V
Sogeha Posted October 11, 2017 Author Report Posted October 11, 2017 I will have a look at that, to be honest I’m looking for a two line gilt an not too aged.
