Abduksion Posted January 1, 2018 Report Posted January 1, 2018 I just recently purchased a Rolex Explorer II with this movement the Asian 3187 GMT but how good are they?
Mike on a bike Posted January 1, 2018 Report Posted January 1, 2018 Give it some time , I'm sure some have some thoughts/experience with it.
misiekped Posted January 1, 2018 Report Posted January 1, 2018 As bad as any gmt clone movement Enjoy when still working Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Propofol Posted January 4, 2018 Report Posted January 4, 2018 Not good.I just bought one and it has been serviced by a watchmaker Several parts changed with OEM ETA ones and service Now it’s better but not perfect
docthor Posted January 4, 2018 Report Posted January 4, 2018 Well...from what I've read anyone with a little knowledge about movements says "stick with the well known and once cleaned pretty reliable ICHS movements and stay away from any CHS clone!"
occb2 Posted January 4, 2018 Report Posted January 4, 2018 Heard nothing but horror stories. It isn't a 3187 clone it is a doctored up Again clone of a 2836 where they made their own CHS parts and rigged it. Listen to Mike and just enjoy while it last but really you can only see the CHS what 2 times a day? While if your sitting next to someone one like me and a some others, I will see it, lol but really, 99% of the world wont. I would stick with a real ETA 2836 version and enjoy the watch for a few years while you make up the decision to buy the real one. The other option is have Misiekped (Mike) put in a SH3135 modified to a 3186 and get a keeper! Best option besides a real one.
SSTEEL Posted January 4, 2018 Report Posted January 4, 2018 (edited) Agree with whats said, avoid, and give this movement a very wide birth, they are plagued with a single faulty, poorly designed sandwich gear, the very gear that adjusts the hour hand manually. Its 2836 based. Edited January 4, 2018 by SSTEEL spelling
Abduksion Posted January 14, 2018 Author Report Posted January 14, 2018 Not good. I just bought one and it has been serviced by a watchmaker Several parts changed with OEM ETA ones and service Now it’s better but not perfect Hello, how long did you have it before it started giving you problems?
Hoganjin Posted January 14, 2018 Report Posted January 14, 2018 It’s simply 2836 eta modified to looks 3186...
Propofol Posted January 15, 2018 Report Posted January 15, 2018 Hello, how long did you have it before it started giving you problems? No problems . Just a preemptive move to avoid problems and improve reliability ++
