436NR Posted January 1, 2018 Report Posted January 1, 2018 Hey Guys! My Franken DSSD started running fast suddenly. I put it on the machine and this is what it looks like. Does anyone know what’s going on here? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
TickleShoes Posted January 1, 2018 Report Posted January 1, 2018 My guess is that it’s magnetized. Sudden and extreme positive rate increases are almost always magnetism. 2
misiekped Posted January 1, 2018 Report Posted January 1, 2018 Or hairspring sticks together Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
436NR Posted January 1, 2018 Author Report Posted January 1, 2018 Thanks! What are my options for a fix? How did this occur?Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
misiekped Posted January 1, 2018 Report Posted January 1, 2018 Movement service will do Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
436NR Posted January 1, 2018 Author Report Posted January 1, 2018 It’s not magnetized. I just checked it. Here are some pics of the hairspring. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
misiekped Posted January 1, 2018 Report Posted January 1, 2018 Nothing can be done over the internet. LOL Try to remove the balance and dip in one clean solution It may help If not then you need service Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1

I just tested it again and did find some magnetism. I’ll pick up a demagnetizer. I hate messing with hairsprings. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
paneraiguy000 Posted January 1, 2018 Report Posted January 1, 2018 (edited) If you do take out the balance wheel, remember to take the jewel setting out before dipping the whole thing in one-dip. Edited January 1, 2018 by paneraiguy000 1
436NR Posted January 4, 2018 Author Report Posted January 4, 2018 Demagnetized Probably time for a service anyway soon. Thanks for the help!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
Ado213 Posted January 4, 2018 Report Posted January 4, 2018 Poor amp and beat error, bring the beat error down see if the Amp goes up which they should. If you don't get at least 275 deg amp it is definitely time for a service NOW. 1
misiekped Posted January 4, 2018 Report Posted January 4, 2018 Now loosen the stud support screw and move the stud until you see 0.0 beat error or at least 0.2Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

misiekped Posted January 4, 2018 Report Posted January 4, 2018 Yes, go slow with the adjustment and don’t forget to tighten the screw back Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
436NR Posted January 4, 2018 Author Report Posted January 4, 2018 Best that I can get it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mike on a bike Posted January 4, 2018 Report Posted January 4, 2018 Amp lower, shit "P" ..................
436NR Posted January 4, 2018 Author Report Posted January 4, 2018 Yeah, when the amp goes up the s/d goes up too. I saw the amp go up to 275 with a 0.1 beat error, but the s/d also went up to +10. I have a Rolex service manual for the 3135, but I’m hesitant to service this myself. Hands aren’t as stead as they used to be. Always takes me to a very frustrating place. Ado213 Posted January 4, 2018 Report Posted January 4, 2018 Well you’ve done your best, pass this on now. Mike if your US based
436NR Posted January 4, 2018 Author Report Posted January 4, 2018 Well you’ve done your best, pass this on now. Mike if your US basedYeah, we’re about 20 miles from each other. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
misiekped Posted January 4, 2018 Report Posted January 4, 2018 High amps doesn’t mean you are good to go When the movement is dry you may experience top amplitude When you got gunk instead of lube the amps go on low side Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Big question is whether I go on an adventure and try it myself or off to you Mike. I’d have to pick up the proper lubes if I’m going at it myself. How’s your workload Mike?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
misiekped Posted January 4, 2018 Report Posted January 4, 2018 Pm me If you attend to do yourself you need few things, at least Mainspring, mr4, hp1000, rl1, rl2 and 9010Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mike on a bike Posted January 4, 2018 Report Posted January 4, 2018 Gen right. I'd practice on an Asian and send it of to Mike................but I do that with everything , better safe than sorry. PS yes 20 miles of mostly water!
