Hey Guys!

My Franken DSSD started running fast suddenly. I put it on the machine and this is what it looks like.

Does anyone know what’s going on here? Thanks!

Nothing can be done over the internet. LOL

Try to remove the balance and dip in one clean solution

It may help

If not then you need service

Yup! I get it! Thanks Michael!

I just tested it again and did find some magnetism. I’ll pick up a demagnetizer.

I hate messing with hairsprings.

Poor amp and beat error, bring the beat error down see if the Amp goes up which they should. If you don't get at least 275 deg amp it is definitely time for a service NOW.

Now loosen the stud support screw and move the stud until you see 0.0 beat error or at least 0.2

Yeah, when the amp goes up the s/d goes up too. I saw the amp go up to 275 with a 0.1 beat error, but the s/d also went up to +10.

I have a Rolex service manual for the 3135, but I’m hesitant to service this myself. Hands aren’t as stead as they used to be. Always takes me to a very frustrating place.

High amps doesn’t mean you are good to go
When the movement is dry you may experience top amplitude
When you got gunk instead of lube the amps go on low side

Either way, it’s time for a service.

Big question is whether I go on an adventure and try it myself or off to you Mike.

I’d have to pick up the proper lubes if I’m going at it myself.

How’s your workload Mike?
