I guess, like many here, I’m a member of several ‘gen’ forums too. Whilst here in the rep world we worry about and try to make our watches as close to the standard gen as possible. On some gen forums, (some) people are happy to modify and upgrade their watches with non OEM parts such as bracelets, bezel inserts, hands etc. Do we really worry too much about building to gen specs and should we be a bit more open minded about modifying? 

 

My rep Omega Seamaster Chrono for example, which has been changed from OEM spec to what I want. I love it, but some Omega officianardos may not!

yes ive always found this funny. GEn owners are modding like crazy to make their watches less like stock gens.

I with you man. All reps are fantasy when you get down to it, so why not build to your own tastes, it IS your watch after all. It's called "bespoke customization" in any other realm.

Sometimes not a matter of taste either if you scratch up the bezel on that Omega you can get an after market one at a reasonable price gen not so much, still you bought it gen it is but just doing a cost effective repair.

I like your mod in any case... I wish I could pick up the same rep and mod the hands for swords and insert... to something... I don’t know... different

Thank you. I have thought about sword hands or even P.O. hands, but at the moment I want to obtain some originality. Ha!
