rsv123 Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Argrghhh, just what I feared! It's so good I might have to buy one

RWG Technical Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Wow, does that format and detail bring back memories... Fantastic job, and great review. RG
madasboot Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Just my small contribution: The 12 and 6 numerals are off-centered (misaligned with the smaller numerals around the bezel) and that one is, IMHO, a fatal flaw for this much expected model.
madasboot Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 well, look at the pictures of the genuine...I can't see that they are aligned differently??? I am not going to argue with that but recently I had the chance to hold one in my hand and I did not notice that misalignement... Sorry if I am wrong.
Pugwash Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Is trhe minute hand really that raised from the hour? It looks like a huge gap, but that might just be the pictures. On the gen, they are flush, but on the rep, there's room for another hand in there.
AMK000 Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Great review .... done the old good way.
madasboot Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 no worries, didn't mean to shut you down - maybe it was missaligned on the one you held - curious though if you are talking about the previous models though? The one I held was a gen.
cskent69 Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Great review and great close up pictures. My big thought is: can these datewheels and crystals be purchased to fix our old watches!
rsv123 Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 The one I held was a gen. Here's a pic of the gen, looks the same as lovepanerai's rep to me?
rolli Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 hi lovepanerai, great job, really. should i buy this one, why not. cheers rolli
babola Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Great job LP, that CG lever does look a bit off, I agree. What worries me more than CG and lever are the bar hour indices, they seem to be noticeably smaller than gens, and not very well lume-filled (the latter issue can be fixed relatively easy). Also, judging by the photos, the ones on rep seem to have chromed edges, while the gen comes with black...is that true, or is it just the photos ? Nice effort altogether cheers, babola
elprimerozen Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 I have no words to say what a grat review!!!!! Great Job lovepanerai!Congrats!!!
Category 5 Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 Great work! I enjoyed this post. Looks like the CG and crown are not the only sore spot on this one though. Something has gone terribly wrong with the minute markers. The 12 and 6 look nice, fat and rased. the markers look like canal street stuff. Compare to the Gen which has a similar look to the 12 and 6, just on a separate piece. I'm sure the CG and crown are easy fixes, but the dial stuff is best left to an expert.
V Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 well, bad news the watch doesn't wind on either of my watchwinders, I noticed that you can not hear the rotor spinning at all, so I assume that the rotor is stuck or loose. So I decided to wear it for a day and see what the power reserve is and it is only a couple of hours...something is definitely wrong....damn this just further fuels my love/hate relationship with replicas Bad news indeed.. especially now with the CNY that you cannot do anything
