Steve G Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 I really need a double AR run to happen...count me in for my 187, VCO, and Navi
iluvspl Posted June 13, 2007 Report Posted June 13, 2007 I waiting for the double sided run myself. Chief just give me some notice so i can send mine off to vaccum for the removal and he can send them to you. What is the turn around on the AR process anyway?
yellomen Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 Well.. i got at least 2 crystal for the next AR run
HauteHippie Posted June 25, 2007 Report Posted June 25, 2007 Hey folks, There will be future AR run(s). Long story short, I'm in the process of preparing a house to sell and moving my family about 3 hours away. In the meantime, I will also be starting a new job in the new locale in a few weeks, so will be on the road quite a bit (and away from my family during the week) until the house sells. I may find some time to organize more runs during this transition period. But, I may not. Thanks for understanding. -Chief
coolfire Posted June 25, 2007 Report Posted June 25, 2007 No worries dude... Fully understand... Just keep us informed.

The single sided run isn't back yet, which is a bummer because it'd have been much easier to have been able to get those crystals returned before starting the new job. Oh well.
MADRED7 Posted July 16, 2007 Report Posted July 16, 2007 ....hope we can get all infos in the next days cause I will be starting my annual leave on Friday....and my SA crystal needs AR badly!!!! Theo
yellomen Posted July 22, 2007 Report Posted July 22, 2007 Hey Chief... how's the new job? Hope you like it... cause we all spent way too much time away from home at work, so it better be good Question to all of you... would it be better to have the crystal of my IWC CD AR coated? It already has an AR coat... double sided... but it has a strong blue hue... is this correct???
b16a2 Posted July 22, 2007 Report Posted July 22, 2007 It is indeed, IWC use a double AR coating that also gives off a blueish hue, similar to the Breitling and certain Omega watches

It already has an AR coat... double sided... but it has a strong blue hue... is this correct??? Strong blue, depending on what you mean by 'strong' as it is very subjective, is not correct. The blue hue is usually not in your face so to speak, but more noticeable under certain light conditions than under others, especially florescent. I've said it before, and I will say it again, though... The color of the AR is less interesting than the performance of the coating. Professional AR - that used by my coater, and used on gen watches - does vary from run to run and from watch to watch. The way to judge a coating, therefore, is not by its color but by how well it inhibits reflections. The performance of a quality AR coating in inhibiting reflections on the crystal is FAR more noticeable than the shade of blue or purple.
fotoman Posted July 22, 2007 Report Posted July 22, 2007 I think i actually have a watch for this run - or at least the next available
mack10 Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 hi - put me down as a +1 for a BCE crystal. I just got it, but I want to LOVE it, and for that it needs a real heavy dollop of AR!!!
mack10 Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 whoops - double sided of course! How many more crystals do we need before the next run can be started btw?
Nebakanezzar Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 I have two for the next single sided run....
Jawo Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 I have 2 for either the single or double sided run. Whichever is the first available.
TomRiddle Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 I doubt it's open, rumor is chief stopped doing these ...dying for him to re-instate it again though
HauteHippie Posted August 3, 2007 Report Posted August 3, 2007 LOL... I shipped off about two dozen coated crystals back to their owners today, and there will be AR runs coming up in the next month or so. Just taking a break.
lello Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 I also need to get Ar coat on four crystals. Not sure yet which ones single and which one double. :cc_confused:
sssurfer Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 I also need to get Ar coat on four crystals. Not sure yet which ones single and which one double. :cc_confused: Hi lello, if this can help, all PAMs from 2002 and on are AR coated, all single side. 1998 models should not have AR coat. Unsure about 1999-2001 models.
ryaku Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 I also need to get Ar coat on four crystals. Not sure yet which ones single and which one double. :cc_confused: Ouch...i suppose you won't provide such service in short time then... I hoped not to have to ship my crystals abroad and overseas.
