tonyp1 Posted May 23, 2007 Report Posted May 23, 2007 This is more than I paid for my Gen 1680. http://cgi.ebay.com/Very-Rare-1986-Rolex-B...1QQcmdZViewItem
Mickey Padge Posted May 23, 2007 Report Posted May 23, 2007 Insane, yes. It is a piece of paper....... Some people have more money then sense, that's collectors for you though....
tonyp1 Posted May 23, 2007 Author Report Posted May 23, 2007 Rep manufactures take notice. How ironic it would be if owners of gen Rolex actually turned to rep manufactures for things like this. Prices like this make it not too far fetched.
jfreeman420 Posted May 23, 2007 Report Posted May 23, 2007 You have to be a hardcore collector to buy that. I guess if you are hard core enough to spend $60k on a NOS 6263 then it makes sense. I want to know where people get all this money to throw away?
alligoat Posted May 23, 2007 Report Posted May 23, 2007 The sad thing about this is that someone is out to buy the blank guarantee and create a provenance for a watch which is a hoax. Just more lying, cheating bs.

Prices like this make it not too far fetched. Not too far fetched at all...And I'm sure that there are many vintage gen owners who have replica components on their watches (installed wittingly, or unwittingly). As an example, I'm pretty sure that there were plenty of aftermarket Tropic 39 Superdomes floating around in genuine Rolex packaging....

Just more lying, cheating bs. Yep - that is what I am thinking. No collecter buying thing. It makes for a good prop in a scam.
