premiumdesigners Posted April 17, 2006 Author Report Posted April 17, 2006 196? 029? 063? so many choices!!! hahaha
kegra Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 My first pam was a 183G unitas, i felt in love this watch and still gets a lot of wrist time.
premiumdesigners Posted April 17, 2006 Author Report Posted April 17, 2006 keep'em coming!!! btw, do any of the board dealers ship from within the states?
Chronus Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 If money is no object than get a genuine! Otherwise, PAM028 - cyclops, croown/crown guard (?), relume, real PVD, datewheel PAM029/063 - cyclops, crown/crown guard (?), relume, datewheel PAM196 - datewheel, relume, crown I am not 100% sure on these, someone like sssurfer or finepics will know more.
Guest overboosted Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 Wilkommen! 111 is a good bet for a starter PAM. Maybe try an asian movement if you are not sure about the PAM size and what not. If you definetly know you will love it and want to keep it, spend the extra for the swiss. I have a few asian copy pams and not too thrilled, but hit and miss. No dealers ship from US. Most dealers will however gaurentee you get your watch so the only bad thing is the wait. Oh the wait! Keep an eye out in the Trade section. Some nice PAMs usually pop up in there. I got my first one second hand and now have at least 12. Kinda ran out of models I like without being too redundant.
Willith Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 I'm gonna go with the crowd and say the good old PAM111H, the newer versions are really nice and not very expensive either. Just get a nice strap and you are all set (for now, but you will want more, both straps and Panerai).
jimmytim Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 "money is no object" Go get a gen! okay, I'd vote for PAM 111h as well.
premiumdesigners Posted April 18, 2006 Author Report Posted April 18, 2006 haha, money is an object for a gen, i meant in the realm of reps. Thanks for the info gents> this gives me homework to do.
cwai02 Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 (edited) MY first PAM was a 111H. Then I got 183, 165, 127 and 63. Edited April 18, 2006 by cwai02

faonmyea Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 (edited) 050 with SS band. simple. Edited April 19, 2006 by faonmyea
sssurfer Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 050 with SS band. simple. Agree. An almost flawless rep.
hookoo Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 Honestly, you can start with the 111h. It is simple and elegant. But it doesn;t really matter. You most likely WILL be ordering a another within a week. So better decide on buying two PAMS..
jamesb Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 (edited) 005, 111, 036 are good to start with, or may be 217 then u need to service the movement, relume and capped the hands for some of the above mentioned models cause there r some which does not have recessed pin Edited April 21, 2006 by ohmycocker
mossanti Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 PAM 111H the best...go for ful set too...looks will kill ya ...
exper Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 Agreed, 111H is the way to start off. I still really enjoy wearing mine and its the one Ive spent the most money on after the initial watch.
premiumdesigners Posted April 21, 2006 Author Report Posted April 21, 2006 OK OK, Im waiting for Andrew to email me back about the 111H Full Set like CWAI's picture. Thats a nice set.

I still really enjoy wearing mine and its the one Ive spent the most money on after the initial watch. I'd go w/ the latest decorated-bridges/swan neck F series 111--since it has a more accurate guard than the H series, all you need is a relume, capped hands, and you'll have about as accurate of a Panerai as you can buy.
