  1. Thanks T for all the years! It was fun getting this place set up and going, I've been away for a while, but this place was never forgotten by me and so many others. Your efforts were a great success and I wish you all the best in life and hopefully things get back on track for you and maybe you'll stop by here again and see what's going on. Take care and well wishes, cheers!
  2. Wow, very sad news indeed! Your dad was a great man and back in the day when I was more active on the sites, we would message a lot. He will be missed and I'm sure he's up there watching over your family and you will see him again some day. RIP Bob!
  3. Wow, great looking watch, nice looking collection there too. Wear it well!
  4. Nice review, thanks for posting it.
  5. It looks great, I too like the date wheel, nice and close to the dial. Great movement too, should run nice and smooth. How's the lume?
  6. I take mine to a local watchmaker, he doesn't care if it's rep or real, he will service it. If you live in a larger city you can typically find a guy who will repair all your watches. Just don't take it into a large chain store or an AD for the brand, those are bad places for reps. Most of the higher end reps have the same movements as the real ones, so service will be about the same anyway.
  7. Nice collection! Great pictures as well.
  8. Thanks for sharing! I love the new 1950 submersible, time to hit the Panerai site and see what I can find out about this watch. Since I can't seem to get a Ti 194, I might see about getting one of these.
  9. Wow, great find! Congrats and thanks for posting the great review, not too shabby for your first one. Now, I just need to find your "secret source" and get one for myself, this would pull me out of rep retirement as well.
  10. Very cool review V, thanks for sharing and great pictures to show the different versions. I don't have any of those buckles, they seemed too pricey to me for what you got, especially when the reps started to roll out it caused too much confusion. Kind of like the OEM deployments and how expensive they were until the reps came out and then every time you see a deployment FS you have to winder if it's OEM or rep.
  11. Damn, missing another GTG, I leave that day for Florida. Have fun and maybe I'll make the next one.
  12. Congrats on going to the event. It should be a lot of fun, make sure you post some pictures.
  13. Wish I could have made it, maybe the next time. Good to see you all had a great time and got to share watches, food and drinks.
  14. Nice work as usual, I really like the color and thickness of the leather, looks great! That watch looks familiar.
  15. Dude, give it up, we're never going to get a decent 194, unless you have ~$11K to spend.
  16. Thanks for the nice comments. It's a really nice watch, I don't see me selling this one off any time soon.
  17. Here are a couple, I suck at taking pictures, so they probably will hurt more than help. I already gave some pictures to another member, so he could use them in his review.
  18. From a person who has a genuine, this is a pretty good rep. I only saw a few flaws from the quick comparison with the pictures. The font on the 15, 30, 45, 60 is a little off and the wrong color on the rep; the date font is a little off, it looks like the rep has a recessed cannon pin (but it cold be the angle); and the biggest the the short lugs. The crown looks a little different, but no one is going to notice, it looks a little more rounded than the gen which is more square. Finally, the lume "dots" on the dial look like they have little circles around them on the rep and the gen has nothing like that, just the lume. Pretty nice rep if you ask me.
  19. V, glad to see you finally got your watch. It looks great, how's the lume? Have fun finding a strap for it and you are far more brave than myself, I hated to change straps on that watch.
  20. VB, unlike some of the others I think the stitch on your strap looks great. Granted some of the ones you posted earlier have a few issues, but yours looks great. I have custom straps from better known makers that have worse stitching than the one you have pictured. I'm glad you found a new source for straps, we always need more of those.
  21. FYI, for those interested, Woj has some of his cases back in stock. I ordered a couple for myself today.
  22. Happy New Year to everyone! I wish you all the best in the coming year and may all see your hopes and dreams realized in the coming year and all the rest to come.
  23. Well, next time tip me off, I need one of these my strap piles are growing and they need a home. Since I've gotten both 22mm and 24mm lug watches I need more cases. Good point about desperate people, but then again I'm desperate for one of these cases.
  24. One of the more authentic PVD I've seen done, looks great. BTW do you know if they bead blast the cases before they treat them or just leave them polished?
