trustywatchguy Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 (edited) Dear guys, I was working with my watchsmith over the past few days on the Omega Planet Ocean 42.5mm Swiss ETA and managed to get the ultimate version OUT today! The pictures were taken few hours ago and has a spanking new Omega PO Dial with matching bezel. What's NEW: Omega PO Dial with logo placing at exact location The wordings are also much slimmer in general Matching bezel with Dial The other parts are still the same. The bracelet is still the best version around - heavy and has the correct font of "Planet Ocean" Please enjoy and let me have your views Oh yes.. if you want to ask the price.. email me ANDREW Edited April 26, 2006 by trustywatchguy
ubiquitous Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Andrew- Is this a one of a kind, or will these changes be implemented across the line in production?
eLiNK Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 (edited) Andrew, you are the man. Is the black version fixed too? Edited April 26, 2006 by eLiNK
trustywatchguy Posted April 26, 2006 Author Report Posted April 26, 2006 I had the pleasure of working with my watchsmith on the Orange and now we have also gotten the black version ready. The cost is higher on our side as I have to pay for the new dials and also the workmanship of the watchsmith but if it is worth it, I will implement across the board for all the NEW POs - 42.5mm What do you think? ANDREW

trustywatchguy Posted April 26, 2006 Author Report Posted April 26, 2006 I think this is an exellent effort Andrew It brings a smile to my face to read about these improvements. Well done. Regards Gunnar I only had time to work with it after reading reviews about what I was selling and also talking to some of the guys in the forums. BigRedJoe was also discussing with me recently over this. =) Well, it's only slightly more expensive but you get what I think is WORTH every single cent spent.
BilboBaggins Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 I think its brilliant for a dealer to read his reviews, then act on the feedback gained. Thanks very much for taking the time and effort to improve this rep...well done Andrew!! Jon
eLiNK Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 That's definitely the way to go. And it pays too.
rek001 Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Andrew, well done! Is this PO available with black rubber strap?
takashi Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 (edited) I may be wrong... Are you sure it's the 42 mm version? If yes then the logo is too far off this time round. Correct me if I am wrong. EDIT: Position is correct... just that it look smaller to me. Edited April 26, 2006 by takashi
Dario33 Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Very nice work Andrew! Glad to see the reviews on the board are taken into consideration!
ubiquitous Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 What do I think? I think I might be making an order for one of these sooner than later, that's what I think!
Richard Tracy Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Great Work Andrew ! We are truely lucky to have you .... Any word on a 45mm swiss ?
Savvy Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Excellent job Andrew! I am really looking at a gen right now for $2200 ... ... but since I saw your new post, I might just have to get yours ... MIGHT ! Anyway of testing the Water Resistance on this? It doesn't have to be 2000 ft I'll be happy with 30 m

EDIT: Position is correct... just that it look smaller to me. I believe the positioning corresponds more to the 45 mm version but still it is a major improvement over the previous kinda defective placement (which was hit and miss). ....................................45 mm ................................................................................ ....... 42 mm ...... lefty47 Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Andrew, this version looks great. As you know I am looking at the Orange PO for a birthday present for my son. I will order this version next week. Great work!
miquel Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 I think this commitment Andrew has to our community is a definite asset. Having ordered from Andrew a couple of times, I know his stardards of customer service are high. Offers like this solidify that. He is setting a new standard.

I hope price ain't too high for that improvement.
mikellem Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Andrew, very nice work...Keep this up and we appreciate your open ears. Thanks Again Andrew.!
rek001 Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 OK, so isn't the logo a bit too high if this is the 42mm version? Isn't it supposed to be just above the word Omega? Also, Andrew, can you answer this question, you mentioned the dial matching the bezel, in what way? All in all, thought, this is one FINE watch.
TimeBandit Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Great job... Actually, the logo placement was one of the main reasons for not moving forward on this purchase. The other was the length of the Minute hand? I cant really see the pics that well, was that addressed also? Thanks
cwai02 Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 The logo is now too far from the word...but that's better than too close though.
ryaku Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 I took a careful look at pics and i got the feeling that the dial is from the asian version. Try to look at the writing. Am i wrong?

ryaku Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 It looks like the Asian dial + 4th Gen Omega logo. That's it!
