Ebay was Good to me this week - new Tourbillon

so, i picked up this little puppy on the bay for 500 bucks - Power reserve. AR obviously tourbillon. I think blue screws in the tourb cage would have been in order, but the dial is fantastic. 2 straps, 2 deployants.

This guy is getting robbed - and i held the gun :)I think its his advertising. I offered to try to spruse it up to help him with sales to help pay for the watch, he didn't want to take me up on it. Personally i think my photos are much juicier than his stock crap :)

SQUEEZE ME?? BAKING POWDER?? Wow, Phoband, that watch is gorgeous. You made out like a freaking bandit!

EDIT: Just watched the Image Shack viddie. First, didn't know one could upload vids, so thanks! Second, wow. Just wow. A real tourby. Lucky dog! Look at that baby go, sweet.

I'm confused as all hell. Correct me if I'm wrong. I thought all unbranded/obscure Tourbillon's on the Bay were scams. Or at the very least of Chinese manufacture and worth around $150 retail.

I saw one Chinese Aeromatic Tourbillon with a BIN of $17K

That listing screamed scam.

If it's got a working Tourbillon, like this, it's a bargain at $500. Sure, it's Chinese, but it's still a bargain.

Thank you for the clarification. I had no idea any Chinese movements commanded such high prices.

$500 isn't a high price for a Tourbillon.

yeah check our collectors, they have 600+ on the tourby reps.

And, i think the no name is better than than the rep - no way i wear a 100,000 tourby watch, but this, is a watch i could afford..

Interesting site. I wonder if i could have ordered direct. Based upon the dealer prices, i'm pretty sure i didn't pay much over cost, especially on small volume. Its an impressive watch. I'd buy another from this company. But alot of the watches on that site are UGLY :)

Last I looked the millionsmart tourbillion range started at about $400, with discounts available on volume purchases

oh where, maybe i'll start an ebay business - these guys don't know how to sell :) they don't even mention the AR. you can clearly see it on the crystal - it might be "light" ar but i can see teh blue reflection

Because these are legal Chinese watches you'll note the good quality control.Rep manafacturers want massive returns because their trade is illegal, and as the nly brand that can be damaged is that if the company they are copying quality control is very much an afterthought.

Millionsmart will produce cases or whole watches to you specification in runs as small as 100 units I believe. Obivously the per unit price will be higher than if buying larger volume.

yeah, there are a few of their models there that are sold as Aeromatic - and those are selling in the 700 range.

Just like on ebay make up a german company :) import chinese watches, make 300 bucks a watch

If there were smell of volume our dealers would run in a heartbeat :)

That watch is stunning. And if it is functioning you are truly a genius. Although I don't own one (and it is unlikely to ever be in my budget), two friends each own one. One owns a Breguet and the other is a Patek. Both guys say they are so temperamental that they don't wear them. Leave it to the Chinese to outdo the Swiss. They may not invented it but they certainly improved on it.

of course this is the gamble :) narikaa has a tourb that he uses as the dailey beater. i did alot of research on the forum before buying. these have a good reliability rate (the newer chinese movments) but if it fails :) well thats when you need some luck.

one reason price is key and i didnt want to spend 1k. at some point when your down we will meet up. this one is more impressive in person than the photo and that doesnt happen to often.
