freddy333 Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 Not so fast, my little timekeeping Grasshopper. The watch is fine, it is your winder that died (Sorry for poor picture quality - this is an enlargement from another picture) After 40 turns of the stem (by hand), the Daytona springs to life & the beat goes on
Pugwash Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 Please stop posting pictures of white-dial working Daytonas. They make me cry. I want a daytona ...
rag9fx Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 yes freddy but ... does it work on your wrist??? my 116520 works when i wind it but then it dies when its on my wrist ... oh well it makes a nice desk clock.
freddy333 Posted August 15, 2007 Author Report Posted August 15, 2007 I do not consider a watch to be working unless it keeps proper time on my wrist. And, yes, the watch is working. The winder, on the other hand (no pun intended), although I have not tested it on my wrist, is definitely not working.
gioarmani Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 yes freddy but ... does it work on your wrist??? my 116520 works when i wind it but then it dies when its on my wrist ... oh well it makes a nice desk clock. Sounds like the balance jewel cap is loose.

Watchmeister Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 Well my Palp modded 116520 is still working beautifully and for that matter so is my 6263 but then again I would expect no less as it is from Ubi.
TK471 Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 I hear these seconds @ 6 watches are timebombs, but my Cosmograph is working like a peach, or a gem. Or well. It's working well.
Watchmeister Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 In truth we are all waiting for the inevitable death. All you can do is service and pray.
Pugwash Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 But seriously if he sends me a new one i am putting it up for sale right away and Pug u have first dibs if u are interested. Lonnie White dial, please.
