Luckily for those in the know the short minute hand is an easy spot...if the shady auction and "missing" origin details don't scare you off. I just wish there was a way to warn these people. Someone is going to pay $700 for that first POS!

i reported those auctions to ebay as counterfeits.

you guys need to do the same... and not just sit back and let them sell their crap at 3 or 4x the value.

Nice work. :thumbsupsmileyanim: I usually go on there and report several fake Panerai every day. Some of them are so obvious that you don't even have to look before you know they are fakes. The PO mentioned above is a much better rep than some of the tourbillon Panerai reps I've seen listed. ;)

Nice work. Too bad ebay doesn't have more of an opinion on the selling of fakes masquerading as real. Of course, any "aware" buyer should be able to tell if the auction is real or not. crappy pictures, 0 feedback, and absolutely no information regarding the watch's origin or authenticity should have been red flags long before the white dayte, too low He valve, and short minute hand....never mind the cardboard loooking strap.

I find it strange that these people are willing to bid several hundred dollars for a watch with no papers, from a seller with no feedback, who is located outside of the USA. Maybe they need to learn their lesson the hard way?

Its not just watches either. I collect Confederate currency and it is the same situation. I have actually seen $500 confederate bills that have a WELL KNOWN replicated serial number. And everyday there will be a new one takeing its place after its reported.

The girl that won the auction apparently don't know anything about watches and buying it as a gift for her boyfriend, so those are the people that these scammers target. And there are a lot of them out there.

Oops, scratch that, the seller stated that he does not think it is authentic. 11 bids on it already anyway though.

yuck, look at the date window
