  1. Sounds like a good time... Happy holidaze...all ya'll
  2. Gran...that is another "old timer" Had not seen them boys in years...what happened to Pugwash? His watch pics were unbelievable.
  3. I have used and abused my rep subs in every kind of condition imaginable. Mud, grease, diesel fuel, jack hammers and welding/grinding. I can honestly say that the paint used on the rep bezels I own is pretty tough. I collect vintage, and I find that I need to soak the bezels in detergent to fad them enough to look the part. Scratches on the tropics are more of a problem than the bezels being scratched in my line of work. Bezels are cheap too. $12-$15 will get you one that looks like new.....though I have yet to buy one. I think a bit of wear adds to the vintage look in my opinion.
  4. I have had as many as 12 at one time. I have recently culled the herd down to 4 favorites. A vintage sea dweller MBW, 1680, 5634, 212 PAM. The rest were not being worn and were sold. Quality instead of quantity was the final decision in what was gathering dust and what was actually worn.
  5. I divide my time equally between RWG and DS. Usually bounce back one to the other, depending on whats new and interesting.
  6. And the lume is not that well applied. Kinda sloppy in my opinion.
  7. 1968 Firebird. 400 CI 4 speed. My dad was always into the muscle cars and I have owned several of the classics. 69 Camero, 65 Mustang, 50 Chevy Pickup 5 window with a Vortec 350. Sad to say that they have all been sold :-(
  8. Awesome....nice finish on the bracelet as well!
  9. My wife has the same one. Even tho it is a rep, she will only wear it on 'special' occasions. She picked it out and absolutely loves it! Great taste and good choice.
  10. I just set everything to 12:00. But it is only necessary if you are removeing the hands. Yes, there is a small button to "gently" press. Inserting, is just reverse of what you did to remove.
  11. Looks good. I kept telling everyone that is where I got my datewheel.....nobody believed it would work.
  12. THAT is one awesome sub! I like it alot.
  13. 8 Decent sticks + humidor for $15 www.cigarsintl.com/sa677 I posted this on RWI too.
  14. I replaced my buckle on my Molina which was sewn in, with a screw type. Dremel with a "cut-off" wheel. Literally took 15 seconds. No damage and no worries.
  15. Best option? Buy new bezel inset.....Glue it on yourself Cheap and easy!
  16. 127 tropic from Edge Date wheel from ebay Relume is not really lume at all. These usually do not glow anymore, so I looked around and tried several different combonations of things. After experimenting....I came up with JB Weld hardner. It dries to a shade that is still vintage without the overpowering yellow.
  17. I pressed the tropic onto mine. I have even dove with it. Nothing crazy as far as depths go. But it is good to 60-70 feet.
  18. A gen tropic 127 will fit onto TWG vintage 1680. Been there, done that.
  19. Very good choice! I absolutely love the domed tropic vintages. So classy!!
  20. Its from TWG ....I popped the pearl as I like the looks of a vintage without it. As a matter of fact, I sent the pearl to another member from spain who was looking for one. The tropic is from Edge. I really like Andrews 1680 because the red submariner is small like the gens. Ebay is where I found the correct datewheel with the open 6's and 9's. I do have an extra open 6 & 9 date wheel overlay if someone is interested in fixing their 1680. It does have the white background and not the silver though. Also have a replacement tropic 127, NOT GEN, that I'd be willing to help a fellow member out with. I am working on a different type of "Franken" watch, so I will not be needing those two items. They are new and never been installed.
  21. Been working on this one for a while New 127 tropic New date wheel replacement bezel relume the over yellow hands and hour markers Messed with the CG's slightly And done by me and a bit of help from the DIY articles here and on the Darkside. Better camera is definately needed.....Best I can do with what I have to take fotos with.
  22. You should see the datemagnification of that tropic!! HOLY COW! Definately fills up the cyclops.LOL
