Has anybody been to see this yet, I went Friday, it's OK but the book is so much better, it would have been better with a decent Director, Jackson or Spielberg, that [censored] Ron Howard was not even any good in Happy days!!

Cheers Johnkaz. :lock::secret:

Saw it friday night too, as someone who has not read the book even though we have a copy in the house I did not find it all that but just okay, although every showing after 6pm within a 10 mile radius was bloody sold out so had to get some awful seats for the last showing of the day

I have to say, that in my consdered opinion it was.........pretty good......

It doesn't live up to all the hype but is still a good film, definately one to watch, but nothins special. I haven't read the book, my gf has and she preffered the book to the movie. I found it very predictable in bits, like character wise, and such like.

All in all a good film but nothing special. I wont go into too much detail cos I don't wanna ruin the plot....oooops you've all read the book lol.

I have heard from a lot of friends that its not a great film...looks like a typical 'too much hype' situation.

Might go see it when the crowds die down...i really enjoyed the book so it probably wont live up to my expectation.

I couldn't agree more. I saw it Saturday night. It was a decent movie. The book was better though. I was surprised that we got a seat. At 6:00 we decided to go to a 7:00 show. The theater was full but we got in.

Anyone have a take on Hanks comments at the end of the movie? It seemed like he was waffling a bit on the movies message to appease the 'believers'.

there isn't a whole lot to waffle on...fiction is fiction, no one with the least bit of historical knowledge is debating that part--something hanks and howard have said from the beginning, the question is how good is it as an 'adventure' movie ala national treasure... so far seems like it has turned out to have been a dud...
