For those who don't know of Rene Rivkin... a larger than life Aussie entrepreneur, worth millions, died bankrupt.

The receiver is auctioning his watch collection online.... makes interesting viewing... and it wasn't a bad selection across the board!

For those who don't know of Rene Rivkin...

First, didn't know he had passed on. Thanks for the info (yeah, even I don't read everything online).

Secondly, wow, what a collection! I'm a bit stunned by it.

It got off to a great start. Audemars Piguet. A little too much gold, but a fine timepiece, all the same.

Then, this.

Oy. And I thought I was pretentious.

Wow, I have one of Jorg Hysek's pens. Watch is OKAY. Wannabe Bvlgari, with shades of Mont Blanc.

But this?? Look at the red underlined part. Well, that's nice. Nerdy and you can't fix it. I see Bill Gates gunning for it.

At least the auction ends on a good note. Not the gen movement, but a nice vintage watch all the same.

I'll bid a looney. Wait, that's Canadian money.
