chrgod
Yep.. Gen. Nice, flat hour markers. The easiest tell, the pearl is cut off.
m4rcus
Gen in my opinion. The lume is flat and the markers at 12, 3, 6, and 9 are lumed. The dial is way better that my blue SOSF. The dots aren't raised from the dial due to them being stamped in and the concentric circles are more defined...unless it has a gen dial swap. Probably more stuff if I had my SOSF with me to compare it to.
FxrAndy
You wont let any one have any fun will you , i was waiting for every one to start going on about the large date window and straight tail in the S but yest is is an older gen on the bay right now I would not be paying that price for one when the tag price in Gemany is euros 1810 though

You can always take the shot on THIS on the Bay... 1200 USD "Buy it now" Suspicious "safety box deposit sale" with blurry pics. Seems like an SFSO dial, but with the older style bracelet. chrgod
Looks like your link is down CH And so is yours... As least for me.. Guess it is some eBay-problem, hopefully it will work soon. Search for "Superocean safety deposit", if you are curious.
FxrAndy
Ah well, if the rep was not as good as it is i would seriosly have to consider buying the gen (for the wife) at the price i could get one for, 1810 minus tax is a good price. ! managed to get mine back for a few days but it wont last long. I think i will have to send it to ziggyland for a relume and service just to top it off for the good lady.
andreww
I guessed gen. Of course not showing the pearl, and being a straight S version made it tricky. The one obvious tell for me is the tops of the rider tabs. On the gen there is a curve to the polished part, where on the rep they are flat. Secondly, the surface of the bezel is nicely brushed with radiating lines. Finally, the numbers on the rider tabs are slightly more prominent on the gen. Fun though, I like games like this! The Red Baron
Ah I went rep - the date font looked funny and the bezel markings didn't look deep enough cut. Partially, though, I was hoping it was a rep because that would have been a beauty w/ the QC on the lume! As nice as the Swiss Superocean's date font is, and for want of tinkering with a solid swiss eta movement, I say we re-energize the datewheel project for this rep watch - I'd love to have single digits that fill up the whole date window! P4GTR
The 6,9 and 12 are some of the easiest tells for me on the SFSO. They are flat on the gen, whereas the reps are more rounded and "balloon" looking. I guessed right
