Hello,

My name is Joe and I'm new to this forum.

I've been looking to buy a BCE ultimate but I can't find any local dealers. If anyone can please recommend a dealer that is located in Toronto (Canada) I would greatly appreciate your help. I know that there are several options to buy online, however I've been burned once and would rather buy locally.

This place is great with a lot of great advice. I thank you in advance.

Joe

Hey Joe, and Merry Christmas! :)

Unfortunately, the rep watch business exists with great difficulty outside of the Far East. Unless you are talking of the Chinatown (two Chinatowns actually) of Toronto where you MIGHT be able to get Canal St (NYC) cheap watches, you have look abroad for all your rep watch needs.

-- As an aside, my boyfriend is from T.O., so I know from his wanderings trying to find knock-offs, mostly DVDs, how difficult it is given police crackdowns --

There ARE two options in the USA: one is a collector called TWP, who specialises these days in Panerais, and he has a gallery here on RWG. The other is a lower-quality merchant (no slam at all) on two competing forums, named Wackobirdkeeper. I personally have bought from both, and recommend both to you.

Farther in the UK, there are Narikaa, and Precious Time. Customs risks are lessened coming from there.

Either way, you should hunt around the various collector galleries here for what you are looking for. You may have been burnt before, but perhaps you were dealing with scammers and not the reputable merchants recommended by the forum, who may have faults, but are no scammers.

EDIT: Here is a recent post showing lists of scam sites.

Should you find info that helped you out, you could also upgrade your membership in due course. ;)

Good luck!

Im from T.O. as well. No longer any Canadian dealers, but take heart. You live in a country with probably the most liberal rep importing laws on the planet. Several years on the boards and have not once seen anyone lose a watch coming into Canada.

Hey Joe,

Im also from toronto, and have been on these sites for about a month now. Ive already bought 3 watches (Panerai PAM 112 from Davidsen (hes in HK), and a couple of collectors from the states... So far i havent come across and opened packages, nor any problems with the border folk or ordering online. Check RWI and look for Puretime - Angus, his BCE is pretty good, i have a buddy that has bought his from him.

Either way, your dealing with something the 5-0 dont like, and finding it in toronto (decent products) is pretty hard if not next to impossible.

Happy Hunting

Drew

TO here too...

No rep dealers in the City that I know of...at least none that are worth looking at.

The reps referred to and spoken of here I call "real" reps...hah hah...given that they are of a quality much higher than would normally be found elsewhere.

The dealers used here will have shipped without problem to Canada and will stand by their products which you will find, as you start reading dealer/collector reviews etc.

Shipping from any of the China (CN) based dealers takes about a week using EMS including time at customs, but using slower air mail (about $12 USD instead of $32 USD or so) may take up to 3 weeks or, as little as just over a week.

Shipping BACK to China is a problem as we don't have a cheap, fast airmail service with registration for tracking or anything. So return shipping can take a month on a slow boat to China (literally) if something doesn't work out...or will be really expensive by Expresspost international service (about $50+).

Thanks everybody for all your great feedback. I just put an order in for the Breitling Blackbird and look forward to receiving it. I will post my experience and pics when I get it.

Thanks again and Happy holidays,

P.S. nice to see a lot of Canadians on the site!

Hmm, a lot of Canadians on this board. Having lived in Canada as a kid, for a while, I really love and appreciate the country and its people. I knew there was a reason I liked you, Toady. :)

Back at you...I have family who live in London...used to be W2...that was fun to visit...now they're a little farther out but not too bad.

Hey...TO is the land of The Zigmeister and boyfriends right...how can you go wrong? Heh heh...
