mseanschmidt Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 Okay, I have it narrowed down to two PAMs. Could you give me your opinion on which one you like best and why???? PAM222 versus PAM253 Thanks for your help!!!
FxrAndy Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 Depaends on if you are looking for a chono or no chrono, personaly out of the two i prefer the 253
Victoria Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 Depaends on if you are looking for a chono or no chrono, personaly out of the two i prefer the 253 No contest. I'm with FxrAndy -- 253 all the way. (Gen)
peepshow Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 Gotta agree, the 222 just leaves me cold. 253 all the way of those two...
Watchmeister Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 I actually like Power reserves but the date adjustment button on the side of the 222 rep which does not exist on the gen ruins it for me. The 253 is a classic anyhow. Look for a version with the tick marks on the dial and sapphire crystal.
ewing Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 I'm wearing my 253 today... I'm still impressed by how nice this watch is... I actually like Power reserves but the date adjustment button on the side of the 222 rep which does not exist on the gen ruins it for me. The 253 is a classic anyhow. Fireman_Fred Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 Each to his/her own - I've never been keen on watches with a cyclops (I think they are ugly and spoil the watch face). I have a 253 and think it's a great looking watch - but you don't get a date window (with or without a cyclops !)
buckeye Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 I really like the 253 much better.......good luck with your choice!

mseanschmidt Posted January 27, 2008 Author Report Posted January 27, 2008 Wow! Thanks for all the advice! Based on everyone's feedback I'm now leaning towards the 253!!! What does everyone think of the carbon face as opposed to a plain black? Does that take away from the classic PAM look?
ewing Posted January 27, 2008 Report Posted January 27, 2008 you mean the hobnails dial... the domed crystal and silver hands makes up for it in a big way...
TeeJay Posted January 27, 2008 Report Posted January 27, 2008 (edited) Definitley the 253. I actually quite like the hobnails dial. Okay, so it's not smooth like most PAMs, but that's good, that makes it stand out from the others. I like the blue accent of the sweeping hand (Get it a black strap with white stitching, and then use a Sharpie to dye the stitching to match the hand. It will look awesome, as the photo Victoria loaded shows) I'm not a huge fan of chrono watches anymore, and, although I plan to get a Daylight for my collection, I doubt I'll actually wear it much (if at all) However, if I was going to buy a chrono watch, the 253 would definitely be the one I'd be going for Best of luck with your purchase Edited January 27, 2008 by TeeJay
