UncleJay Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 They should rename this monster GMT MASTER III or at least GMT MASTER II.V!
LordRasta Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Quit spending up my inheritence! Very, very nice.
Corgi Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 oh my! looks like someone had a productive day at the shopping plaza
UncleJay Posted March 28, 2008 Author Report Posted March 28, 2008 oh my! looks like someone had a productive day at the shopping plaza Yes, also stopped by the local Patek AD, fell in love with an Aquanaut. but left there empty handed There's always tomorrow
b16a2 Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 I'm not a Rolex fan, but those two are very nice! How big is the black GMT?
mezzanine Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Awesome and congrats.... Just from my outside perspective, I have to imagine that Rolex is pleased with the sales of their new GMT w/ceramic bezel. Contrast that with the new Yachtmaster II, and I hope Rolex gets a better idea of what direction to go in the future.

My local AD had a wait list for the YMII, and still had inventory on the ceramic GMT. And that is even with the $25K price difference. The market for those that can drop that kind of coin on a YMII is a select few. I think Rolex served that customer demo quite well. Even if taste is questionable! Regardless, congrats on that GMT, it is a beauty.
UB7 Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Nice! Rumor has it rolex is releasing a pepsi ceramic bezel GMT II at basel Wouldn't that be nice? A fusion of your 2 watches - i can't wait
jfreeman420 Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 I do like that watch. I would like the gold version though............ Can't wait for the rep. I don't have an extra $25k right now.
UncleJay Posted March 28, 2008 Author Report Posted March 28, 2008 Yes, also stopped by the local Patek AD, fell in love with an Aquanaut. but left there empty handed There's always tomorrow I believe they rate it the same as the old, but it's thinker with larger Sub size crown. It wears MUCH larger than stated. The ceramic dial is a pain IMHO. Tons of glare and hard to see when wearing polarized shades. I think I use Rolex sport models when I need a break from 44mm plus size watches, but the new GMT lacks a bit of the dress factor and comfort. Opinions may differ.
Toadtorrent Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 ...but the new GMT lacks a bit of the dress factor and comfort. Opinions may differ. That's why you have your PAMS. I do like the ceramic GMT...nice piece. That's interesting about the bezel glare and sunglasses.
