oswald Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 Some of the PANERAIPANERAIPANERAI foil is coming loose on my CN fiddy and I'm scared part of it will get hung in the works. Anyone have pics of a mov't without it? Thanks!
chris5264 Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 I think The Zigmeister had some pics somewhere on one of his pages (I could be wrong) , I remember it looked pretty bad, unfinished with glue everywhere.
KB Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 I would suggest to use a couple of drops of super glue to fix it, however I'm not a tehnical type of guy so thats off the top of my head you will need to check with someone who knows wether that would be safe to try. Ken

Cyanoacrylate should be avoided at all costs on movements as the fumes are effective as a glue. edit: cyanoacrylate is superglue, by the way ... Edited June 21, 2006 by Pugwash
oswald Posted June 22, 2006 Author Report Posted June 22, 2006 The little "lugs" that go around the regulator sword have lifted up. No I wouldn't want CA fumes floating around inside my watch That's why I was thinking about removing the foil. Maybe someday I'll learn to service my own mov'ts and may try some engine turning on watch plates. I've done some on other stuff and it turned out pretty good although nothing as small as a watch mov't... Funny, Côtes de Genève is something I try to avoid with my machining projects I had always heard it referred to as "machining marks" until I got into watches
