bluebite
Hi everyone, This was the reason why I subscribed to this forum... I came across this gen 1570 movement+dial+hands Purchased a NDt 1680 case from Natalie (a smooooth deal!) Another view of the movement. Found a gen stem and a gen twinlock crown: A couple hour of assembly, silicone grease, sweat, etc. : (I love it with a non-cyclops glass and a green NATO) Next on the to-do list: - gen bezel insert - gen triplock crown+tube - index and hands relume (have the correct off-white paint) What do you think? Cheers, bluebite Edited April 17, 2008 by bluebite
freddy333
Me likie. Likie better with a steel bracelet, but that would just be icing on the cake. Have you serviced the 1570? Well done & welcome to the forum.
Sir-Lancelot
Sweet. Looks like you have everything covered. Nice job. Can't wait to see the finished product. I like the old crown better than the new trip lock. Just my opinion. I have been looking for a decent tube for the old style crown forever. pfff
that's nice, where did you get movement + dial + hands ? cheers
manuel
where did you get the case? Is it a standar mbw case? I heard that you need to mod the case in order to fit the 1570. Very nice watch btw.
freddy333
where did you get the case? Is it a standar mbw case? I heard that you need to mod the case in order to fit the 1570. Very nice watch btw. The cases (most likely out of Viet Nam) come from NDtrading & are custom made to fit the 1570. Without any mods, they are the most accurate vintage Rolex cases I have seen. But whether these bare cases are worth nearly 3 times the cost of an entire MBW watch is a judgment call.
bluebite
But whether these bare cases are worth nearly 3 times the cost of an entire MBW watch is a judgment call. Tough call indeed. I chose adaptability over accuracy, knowing that I'll have to mod the CGs and some other stuff. But you're right, the movement and dial fit like a dream, a real no-brainer.
