I also have a 20D, 30D, and Pro1, but for these types of pics, reduced to web size they all perform about equally. I agree, apart from you need a camera with a tripod mount, timer and possibly a polarising filter. You don't need to spend a fortune on a camera to get good pictures. Remember, even the Gens have hollow mid links, and the same "underweight" feel. The gold Gens are heavier, but the stainless is pretty much exact.
